Do you invert your controls?

I always invert my Y axis, and my mates think i'm weird for it, but that's how I've always played because games used to use inverted controls as standard. If you use 'normal' controls, when did you start using them? Most people I've asked started using normal controls when they got an xbox, but as I never had one, I never got used to normal controls and still have to switch them to inverted.

Standard for me, always been standard.

If i tilt left to look left i dont see why i should tilt down to look up, just doesnt feel right for me.

Re: Do you invert your controls?

I use the normal layout, however I did use to use an inverted y-axis when flying in Warhawk....not sure why but it just felt right when flying.

However, on Call Of Duty I recently started using the tactical layout and it's rather handy having R3 as crouch/prone! Got me out of many sticky situations! :smileyvery-happy:

Re: Do you invert your controls?

Always used normal controls, it just confuses me most of the time when they are inverted.

I have used normal controls for the PS1, PS2 and PS3 but only started playing FPS on the PS3.

I've thought about using the tactical setup, but don't you find it more awkward having to stab with circle?

I imagine I'd die loads of times running round a corner into somebody only to lie down instead of stabbing and then get shot on the floor!!

Would make a good 'game losing death' killcam I suppose! :smileytongue:

Re: Do you invert your controls?

I use inverted Y-axis aswell, but I don't really know why. I think it must have been GoldenEye that used it as default? Whenever I use one of my other accounts I end pointing towards the sky or the ground, god ***** what's wrong with this thing lol

Re: Do you invert your controls?

Yup - I invert the Y as well.

I worked as a games tester and almost everyone in the office also thought it was weird. Think it comes from the days of playing flight sims with a joystick on my Atari ST.

Funny though, when i'm playing FPS on a pc with a mouse, I don't invert, so up is still up. When I use a pad, it has to be inverted though - I had to trade in Silent Hill: Homecoming because you couldn't invert the camera Y-Axis. Tried to play it for 2 weeks solid and my brain just couldn't 'get' it.
