How can I reduce my NAT setting?

Info : 2 wireless and 1 wired connected to router at any time, BT homehub2

My nat type is strict at the moment, my ps3 is wireless and I want to reduce it.

I tried opening ports for black ops but to no avail.

Re: How can I reduce my NAT setting?

Try assigning your PS3 to a fixed IP address in the network settings, then put your PS3's IP address in a DMZ on the router

I honestly wouldn't bother mate.

I've done all this, put PS3 in DMZ, application sharing, forwarded ports, before and after the patch and my NAT type is still strict.

you cant have done it right danny if it says strict it should say open if you do it correctly, but as stated elsewhere its mainly the game thats at fault

Re: How can I reduce my NAT setting?

Just a quick note for those putting their PS3 in the router's DMZ. When you give the PS3 its static IP address, make sure it is high enough so that no other wireless device "takes" the IP address from the router (which normally would allocate IP addresses automatically - they're not clever enough to know what device they are allocating an address too..... ;-) - DHCP) before the PS3 is switched on and goes online.

Unless you have shedloads of wireless devices in your home all on at the same time, give the PS3 an address over 100 and you should be ok.

Hope that makes sense...

Sounds bizarre, but go on mw2 multiplayer then go back to black ops, post if it works.

Haha I shall try that, whilst doing that I could also see if the NAT type differs (if it's the games fault or not).

and possibly break my controller in the process XD
