Thats what I do although alot of people hates campers. But when I do that no enemies come by. >.<

I'd say play a little defensively. Stick kind of near to teammates but not too near, walk don't run, always get ready to aim if you go to an area with no team-mates near by. Also try playing in a team of decent players, it helps a lot.

1. Learn the maps well, very well.

2. Awareness; if you're not into "Runnin 'n' Gunnin" play styles, then you really need to be aware of where you are, where your teammates are, and most importantly, where you think the enemy is in relation to you & your team mates. IMHO, MW3 doesnt cater well for Run & Gun styles since you no longer have unlimited sprint  and this combined with the small size of some maps would make TDM especially more of a brutal free4alll. Could u imagine if you played Arkaden, Ground War, everyone with unlimited sprint.

Awareness & knowledge are probably the most important things to get to grasps with asap. Getting comfortable with perks, weapons and killstreaks will just come naturally as you play more.

Final tip, minimap is your friend

Play as part of a party and spawn trap those who are randoms.

I am often a random and am on the other side of this treatment....

your mini map is your friend BUT with silencers assassin and blind eye your eyes and ears are more helpfull

If there is a person camping somewhere and they kill you, don't try to run at them the same way over and over again trying to get them back - try going a different route or avoiding them.

That used to be my primary objective but it seems by the time I get around the enemies, I find them all spawning behind ME!!

Raymond hit the nail on the head - deffo learn to flank, the minimap is your gardian angel when doing this.
