Login with Facebook problem

Has anyone been able to login with Facebook via the in game menu? I have linked my facebook on the elite site, but when I try to login in MW3 I just get the 2 notices then it changes to 'Querying Facebook' for about 15 seconds then flicks back to 'Login with Facebook'

Hi micktee,

 

Did you ever get this problem solved? Activision just told me to delete the app from Facebook, delete all cookies and cache and it should work. I've done this twice and it still hasn't worked. After a week of waiting, Activision are still to get back to me...

No, the only answer I got from support the guy stated you shouldn't be able to login from within the game and he wasn't sure there was such an option in the menu. I gave up asking for help after that.

Surprise, surprise. Well this can't be a coincidence. As I said, the exact same thing has been happening to me. It just keeps saying "Querying Facebook". Spoke to about three different Activision Support guys who all keep telling me the same thing; Go to Elite on your PC, unlink your account, delete the app from Facebook, delete the Internet cache and start all over. So basically, I kept losing all my stored Internet passwords everytime I did this. Great!

 

The last two guys told me it's because I was using Internet Explorer and to install Firefox instead! *****?! I said no. I'm not installing a whole new Internet browser just to use a small feature on your console game. If it's a compatibility issue, then Elite should have been tested with all browsers before release. Also to make matters worse, the Elite webpage decides on it's own from time to time, which version of the support page to load up for you. The US one has the chat option and you can see your support history. The UK one which it periodically changes to is just a mess and confusing. The tech guys I think are just really young and inexperienced as they don't appear to have a clue. I gave up after the 4th tech guy but part of me is still really determined to get this resolved by them. I've looked all over the net for solutions and this thread was the only instance of a similar problem.

 

Ok fair enough it's a small problem. But it would be easier than having to go and manually upload every clip to YouTube, then switch over to the PC and "then" post them to your Facebook wall.

 

As the guy in that famous Honda ad says. "Isn't it great when everything just... works?"
