Same here, bought elite for the maps, and had assume elite would not be part of microsoft deal with activision

Come Nov dont think I going to renew my elite membership, as I have a funny feeling microsoft will have a new exclusive deal with acitivision, which will start later on this year, and will ***** us of, somehting in the following

microsoft xbox 45 day exclusive dlc deal.....£75Million pounds for 3 year deal

Re: [MW3] DLC : Behind the Scenes Trailer

[ Edited ]

I personally didnt get MW3 but looking forward to Treyarch's offering this year. If theres a similar product to Elite this year I wont bother and just buy the map packs as and when I want them

Seems stupid paying for something upfront when you dont know if they will be any good in the first place

Rolling out the maps like that is bull***** - Dont get me wrong I want the maps but drppping them a couple of time does not make sense.  Are they going to setup a playlist like they did in blops just to play the new maps? Not sure about playing 1 or 2 maps over and over again would be fun.

Also although I got Elite - this is a *****ed up timetable and so far to date I have received nothing worth while which was promised, so mucking around with map packs is helping me show the love for elite

There will be a DLC playlist & yes there will only be the two maps in it until more are added.

DLC getting released every month for Premium users is actually one of the selling points. Dont people research what their paying for anymore!?

Re: [MW3] DLC : Behind the Scenes Trailer

Yeah I did research but obviously not well enough - I bought the hardened addition which came with elite.  I was always going to buy the hardened for MW3 regardless of elite - so thats how I came about getting it.  The other thing with research - when  I spoke to the bloke in my local shop when I preordered it he actually said to me that they were rolling out dlcs every month - maybe not maps but something.  The point is Ive not received anything other than a couple of tokens which were not part of the DLCs.  Look im sorry if im moaning but I honestly dont think we are getting what we paid for not to mention that only about 75 percent of elite app actually works

Re: [MW3] DLC : Behind the Scenes Trailer

Seems to be a lot misconceptions about the monthly DLC releases. (Again from the Elite site) It does come out every month during the content season , which lasts for 9 months (not 12 like some people presumed) & starts Jan for xbox & Feb for PS3 users.

There will be other things apart from "just" maps (which will also be playable in Survival mode) like Spec Ops missions & new gamemodes. Weapon DLC and SP story extensions* are also being considered.

*As soon as i heard about SP story extensions being considered the first thing i thought about was the lack of a "after the credits" level, CoD4 had the airplane hijack thing, MW2 had the museum, so maybe something thing along the lines of that as DLC?

So effectively charging you for something they give away previously for free

Yes!

If you managed to get CoD4 & MW2 for free that is.

Re: [MW3] DLC : Behind the Scenes Trailer

Just 2 maps? I thought they would roll out 4 or 5. Also why no classic cod4/mw2 maps?

They may have 3/4, Remember they have annouced 5 content drops up till August

2 Maps - Feb

1 Content Pack - March

2 Content Packs - April

That may mean 4 maps and a spec op pack up to April, at which time all 5 drops will be available to non elite subscribers to buy in 1 pack as the as the norm of past COD games.
