I just saw someone doing this in S&D and after a quick search found this video:

I can't think of any possible advantages to it, or am I missing something?
EDIT: I guess it could help in getting challenges for claymore kills etc...

Actaullty its the oppisite of what you said IMO (before anyone complains about Insulting) Ive try'd it with a Sniper and a Assualt Rifle and it's basically the gun without aiming.
