So - I trust you guys quite a bit more than most websites when it comes to delivering the truth about games, and I also think that you guys won't hold back so....
Review Black Ops!
Type your brain juice out into 3-4 paragraphs maximum, keep it as short and concise as possible and cover all aspects of the game. Once you're done, sit back, relax and relish in self-glory for contributing your thoughts into the awesome-thought-sauce that is this thread.
Go nuts,

I know 3-4 paragraphs should be more than enough, but I would say don't keep short & concise. If the graphics look clunky, explain it. Otherwise you get peoples rather biased and narrow opinions like; multiplayer could of been better (yeah but why & how?) etc. where as if they have to explain their opinions, if they truly mean wha they say, they'll have good examples and be able to articulate it.

Had about 4 hours so far and these are my thoughts. I've only played online so this is regarding multiplayer only.
Graphics - To be honest I look at the graphics and am disappointed. The textures look blurry and washed out for the most part, the edges just look wrong, it looks as if someone has been doing a bad photoshop job on a blurring task, some areas even look grainy, and that's one thing I can't stand. Bear in mind this may be specifically TV related, I'm using a 40" Samsung LE40M87BDX running HDMI for comparison reasons.
Sound - The guns sound like peashooters, just like in World At War. It makes them feel weak and clumsy at first, but after a few addons are unlocked they do improve (they just carry on sounding like they're made out of aluminium cans). Not had any issues with anything else regarding sound though.
The Gameplay - The gameplay I like. The much-needed cull on killstreak spam is a welcome break from MW2, and although the weapons feel light and some have *immense* recoil, once you get used to them they're more of a pleasure to use, you don't feel like you're ever invincible, like you could sometimes in MW2. The equipment system is great, buying your loadouts as well as unlocking them at certain levels will really make the game vary from match to match, knowing alot of people will have different favourites as loadouts, and it's alot harder to unlock *everything* at once. I do feel the recoil is a little OTT on some weapons, it makes it almost impossible to shoot them, but that's probably just my play style causing that.
The Lag - Out of the 4 hours I've played so far, every game has had lag, even with a 4-bar green connection. The sponging has been terrible, almost puts medal of honor to shame. I'm hoping the matchmaking will settle and the P2P servers will work better with more people online, (more online, more choice of closer games) to minimise the lag. Hoping.
But overall I'm currently really enjoying the game. Alot.
Oh and one more thing, the leaderboards are majorly screwed lol. It's giving people kill totals around 15x what they should be lol. After 4 hours apparently I had about 1500 kills, where in fact it was probably closer to the 250-300 mark. Hopefully that'll be fixed soon, I like to know where I am amongst friends ![]()
Hope that helped!

To my Son's surprise Shopto decided to deliver Black Ops a day early. This also meant daddy got to have a go at it after leveling up to Tier 1 on MOH.
The single player starts of with you sitting strapped in a chair and looking at the menu, (trophy whores take note, in this area alone you can get 3 trophies without even playing the game) you have all the normal options, the one thing that had me puzzles was the screen adjust, Ryan didn't do this correctly and when i wanted to fix it for him i had problems finding it ... it's called Safe Area.
I started of the single player and got flashed with loads of images and flashes which kinda did my head but i let it slide .... Your first mission you will have all the standard weapons and follow the lead to your target ... (trophy whores take note, shoot the target in the head) , after the target is aquired you will go about your escape route after you will find yourself strapped in the chair again ... annoying flashes are back ...
More questions are asked and the next mission starts .... oh look, the flashes are back
.... from here on , rinse and repeat ... mission, flashes ... mission ...
The game play reminded me more of W@W then MW2 ... If you liked W@W then you will like this ... specially the upgraded grenade icons for all you veteran lovers ![]()
I proceeded to do some Multi player but it was late so did the training mode instead, this is suppose to simulate the online gameplay which in parts it does, where it fails however is the AI, yes they play differently as in the single player but they are no where near any real players as it was stated. Once they've spotted you they tend to stay there standing shooting at you . (trophy whores take note, this makes it easier to rank up to 10 for that bronze)
The Multiplayer did remind me of MW2 , it was like i was dragged into MW2 with new maps and new sounds ... which i wasn't to keen on in the first place. I've heard improvements have been made which prevents quick scoping etc so it may actually be fun again.
There is another small game included which you can unlock at the main menu, it's part of one of the trophies mentioned earlier.
Of course Black Ops comes with Zombies, Ryan played this for a bit and all i have to say is ... Take zombies from W@W, upgrade the graphics a bit, apply different maps ... et voila ...
Overall, it's decent but not sure if it will last me long with the new BC1 maps for BC2 & Badcompany Vietnam on the horizon.
