If you read the Metacritic comments there is a common theme running through them.

People aren't happy about getting the same game as the last four. Many people, myself included, were hoping for something more. They're still using the same graphics engine they've been using since 2004. The game is outdated and stale to many of us and I won't look at the series again until they do something different.

If you're happy about this then I'm happy for you. Play and enjoy your game but don't dismiss the views of those who find this weak.

And in case you want to get defensive and claim I'm bashing COD, I don't buy FIFA every year either. Or F1 or Tiger Woods and I'm not getting Unchartered 3.

Maybe when the next gen comes out Activision will use a new engine and do a lot more with the tired formula and I might buy a COD game again, the way I bought a FIFA again when they went from isometric to 3-D (from Megadrive to Playstation 1) and subsequent titles every three or so years when the difference in the games was enough to warrant a purchase? Who knows? I'd love to see that happen as I've had hours of fun out of the previous MWs.

Another serious gripe is that this game costs €10 more than every other new release. For a game that is just a rehash of the the others this is obscene. Then they want you to pay another 50 for Elite. So the game is going to cost over 100 to get the best out of it. They're already making a ridiculous amount, it is after all the best selling game going. That is just extortionate. And yes, I know you don't have to pay that but you'd still have to pay for the maps without it.

Now all that said there are people on Metacritic raging and giving the game 0 out of 10 which is just ridiculous. If you hadn't already played the previous MWs to death you would find lots to enjoy being new to the series. I think 6 or 7 is fairer.

& this is the kind of person I cannot stand. (Troll comes to mind!).

People who "feel" they need to tell others what they should or should not be playing and when to play it.

well i am currently playing through uncharted 3 on crushing but i see what you say about it being the only game some people play, its one of the only games i play with my mates for the simple reason you can jump straight in and have a laugh and enjoy yourself. I dont get that from other games unless i play single players.

If you been around on sites like ign, and eurogamer and had a look in their comment sections its just pure trolling. that what happened on metacritic. 

Sadly its happened to other games  like little big planet and portal, and small indie games.

the game should be open to criticism, but the internet is full of moronic idiots. People need to grow up.

Loved the first MW. Haved had all the COD series starting on PC. Hated MW2 because I think they went way over the top on the killstreaks etc. Blops was ok but MW3 I'm really enjoying, to me it feels like I am playing the first MW. I also have BF3 which I enjoy playing as well. If I want quick fast games for a few hours fun I will play MW. If I want long tactical games where you have to think then I will play BF3.

i tried the multiplayer and spec ops.. and eh... nothing special..

also ONLINE is a bit glitchy...     and because.. it's any different than any other modern warfare games ?/ with a few upgrades here and there??

modern warware and assassin creed series..  it's becoming like dynasty warriors series..   a new game within 8-16months...  like endless remake/expansion but with a FULL price tag..

played a few dynasty warriors games.. but after 5. i'm getting of the band wagon...   the same for assassin creed after the second.. and for call of duty. i think the 3 will be the last..

i'll play an FPS for its offline.. but online??  really..   is it like a MAKE OVER?? or just the same old same old??..

i'm a picky guy.. given me the same thing over and over will not last long..

yeah checked a few of the users and the only games they had reviewed were bf3 and mw3, and they gave bf3 a 10 and ofcourse mw3 a 0. That just sums it up!
