Hi all, i have been playing cod for awhile now, black ops included.  And last night and all of today, i have been connecting to players in the U.S and my lag is terrible.  I haven't played with any aussies today at all.  When i do, i have full green speed.  Whats going on!!!

Yeah i noticed the same thing...

I think they have released it like they did MW2 and will need to make a patch so we can connect to servers with lower ping...

I'm pretty sure that i'm taking the game back tomorrow for a refund.

Down the bottom in the middle of the search screen you have a select choice that allows you to choose a search option. You can set it to search for local games only. It may take a little longer to get into a game, but I've had no problems at all getting into green bar games since selecting it. I think the should have made this option a little bit more obvious, as loads of people don't know about it. I hope this helps

The Americans got their game later than us.

So we had a few hours on our own, which was great.

Now we connect to US servers & are stuck with red bar connections games.

But next time i play, i'll try what was posted above, i didn't realise we could do that, so thanks for the info man.

Loving that option...Ive got it on Local only and getting Green bars in every game.

Partying up doesn't seem to work all the time, not quite sure why.
Btw thanks for whoever mentioned the region choosing option.
Didn't realise it before. Deffinately enjoying green bars haha.

i just found the location menu and came back to post..

looks like ill have to start using my nz account coz my usa account chooses us servers/hosts

so it looks like it is psn id location rather than ping/ip related
