Any Driving Fans?

[ Edited ]

So! I've always had a pretty big love for sexy cars, amazing sound cars - and the fast and the furious (actual cars...but I do love the movies!)

Lately, I've started embracing my car side more than my gamer side as I've been going to a car group with a few of my mates, going on Boost 'n Cruises and the most recent was on the weekend when I did the Gen Y cruise.

For those who may read this and go "Uh?" - I've been meeting up with about 100-150 or so friends all with UH-MAZING cars (Nissan Skylines, Silvias, Ferrari F430's, Mistubishi Lancer's/EVO's, Toyota Supra's and "Lexus" :smileywink: Soarers...) on a Thursday night (mainly) in the West Gosford/Central Coast area.
The Reason? - To cruise and have fun...and sometimes do...NOT SO SAFE things, as you can imagine haha.

I want to know, what is THE sexiest car you've been in...was it modified? If so, what was done to it?
If you have pics, feel free to post. Mine, so far would have to be the F430 or the 2012 Nissan GTR R35 Skyline.

The skyline was basically completely custom. Twin turbo, pod filter, lowered, Custom kit, custom cat-back system, straight through pipes. this BEAST was pumping out 800 odd horsepower at the wheels.

My mate recently bought this, and to say I'm jealous is an understatement.

I don't have a picture of HIS car at the moment (It is on my phone, but I cant get it onto my computer =[ lol) But this is the car!

I know he is my mate, and Im probably just acting like a fanboy, but he's does look A LOT better.

So can you beat that? Can you show us? I'll work on getting a pic of my mates car.
If you know a bit about cars - let us know what was modified? Was it worked? or just modified...!

Re: Any Driving Fans?

Mate's genuine XU1 is a pretty sweet ride.... Then there is a girl I know with a street-legal 10 second HQ ute (built herself, not bought)....

I kinda like sleepers though - like a mate with a beige Holden Gemini with a 5 litre on NOS under the bonnet..

Re: Any Driving Fans?

Now we're talking Dessy!
So you like the good ol' muscle style of cars?

Dude, that Gemini, anything else done to it? Can you get pics? Because I'd loooooooove to see that.
The gemini I saw at one of the SAU meets had the troll face on the back sticker, and this roared better then most of the imports haha. It was ridiculous.

I decided I wanted to race it, so this Thursday we're going to be heading to our mates farm which has kind of like a landing strip I suppose you'd call it. Its about a good 500m long? But his has a massive u-beaut engine, he built it from ground up as well. I'm kind of scared to see how quickly he beats my stock VE Commy.

If you like old cars, I'll try to get the pics off my phone. I went to a car festival which was on at The Entrance on the Central Coast in NSW. It was called "Chromefest" - basically a rockabilly themed car festival with all old - amazing cars.

HK Wagons that had been shaved and moulded to be amazingly sexy, 69 Impala's, Shelby GT's, 71 Stingrays, you name it...nothing new though - just rebuild amazing muscle cars or imported cars. Including the original batmobile - was insured for 3 million - this guy got out the papers and everything!

So, if you wanna see - a GTR R35 beat a Lamborghini Gallardo? Well, not just beat but SLAUGHTER!? lol.

Re: Any Driving Fans?

Wow your friend must be loaded. I love alot of things about the GTR but my problem

with it its basically an expensive computer on wheels ...you dont really need any skill to actually drive it.

so most expensive car I have been in is probably a 2009 gtr... best car I have driven is an evo x.

(manual not this stupid auto or semi auto/man transmission rubbish)

Dream car is a porsche 918 spyder or even a camaro zl1 ($50,000 car in the USA $300,000 car here)

Re: Any Driving Fans?

See... the thing with Lambos and Ferraris is, they are the most overrated supercars on the market... expensive, fast (though not necessarily 'that' fast) rich boys toys... Impossible to see out of, noisy and uncomfortable (for the price tag)..

I frequent the Meguiars forums, and one thing that repeatedly comes up is the lacklustre condition these cars come in straight from the factory... Often new owners will actually pay high level professional detailers a lot of money to wet sand and polish the paint back to an immaculate condition...

As for me, the most expensive car I've driven is a Cayman S, but IMO the nicest 'fast' car I've driven is our HSV Clubsport..

Re: Any Driving Fans?

Tj, whilst I agree to a certain extent in that the GTR is a computer on wheels, so are MOST cars these days. Anything realistically after 2004-05? Really are computers on wheels. If you took out the computer, the car itself would still be an amazing piece of machinery.

And, I agree again with the Manual statement, Manual > Auto/Triptonic.

As for my friend being loaded, he is NOW. He basically went over to the mines and saved up, and is now on a ridiculous amount of cash. That being said, he cops soooooo much flak because we keep saying his mummy and daddy bought it for him haha.

So Thursday night, I got to drive a mates R34 GTR Skyline <3 O.M.G :smileyvery-happy: Amazing power. Amazing Handling, I know why people who have SKylines love their cars now, and why people who dont....hate them haha.

In Sydney, from Berowra there is the Old Pacific Highway, which is basically any car/drifting fanatic or bike riding fanatic's wet dream. Hairpins, sweeping corners, just great driving conditions. PLUS amazing scenery. We took our car group down there, and it was just sooooo much fun! I highly recommend it to anyone who likes it.
