I was chatting with a work colleague and we were thinking of getting awesome cruiser bike for summer, we would be riding around the beach and local suburbs and stuff..

We were looking a Electra or Schwinn as brand, We are wondering if anyone has a cruiser and where they got there's from, price and shipping etc

But yeah I've been thinking about getting a bike for a while. I want to go for rides after work and on weekends, but mostly because I sold my car last year and I currently walk 30mins each way to and from the train station every day to come to work.

Electra cruisers have so many different styles and colours, but they're not cheap that's for sure. I'm pretty set on getting the Electra Black Betty. Handlebar ribbons I could live without but I'm sure they'd be easy to remove. Its $800 though so I'm probably going to have to wait a few weeks.

Electra Bikes are cool, they're so well made and a dream to ride. They _are_ expensive but you can tell the quality that goes into them.

I got my Wife a Black Betty the other year (from Goldcross, but they don't do them any more) and she got me a Ghostrider (from here) last year, this is mine:

Perfect for cruising around, especially with my Black Leather German Helmet.

The Black Betty at the time was around $850 but I got it cheaper, Mine cost about $1000 I think.

Oh and the handlebar ribbons are easy to take off, they're just inserted into the handlebar plugs.

My Father-in-law has one of the speed cruisers and his missus has an Amsterdam at their beach place and a pink Townie which she rides to work on. A couple of my wife's mates also have Townies and love them. One thing's for sure, you certainly get lots of comments when riding an Electra.
