Its really funny how things are posted on the internet and people believe its "99%" true becasue it said so.

We have heard nothing of this product and yes we have asked as we have heard of the rumour and need to have some light shed on it.

why would Sony announce a new PSP.

and then release a Sony Ericson "PSP".

Also the specs for the machine were a laugh and a half.

Speaking of the NGP. I may be in a minority here.

but I think it is collassal failure releasing a handheld like that

at this time. Not only are key markets still plagued by poor economic

performance. But I for one dont care about playing a HD game

on a tiny itty bitty little screen.

Also Im sure the "up to PS3 standards(visuals) "..will be just like the

PSPs "up to to PS2 standards".

Guess I'll wait to more info and all but Im thinking.

Unless a Metal Gear exclusive is announced I doubt I'll get one...

That and based on Sonys past efforts I'm sure, it will cost a small fortune.

Well its actually true. There has been a chinese review on a prototype and an american site has done a review on it. It was also in a superbowl ad if I remember correctly.

They are spose to be releasing more information on it in 3 days at some mobile thing.

I can see where you are coming from but they are focusing on different parts of the market. The PS phone is trying to become as fun and entertaining as the iphone witch is the mobile gaming standard at the moment. But the PS home has an emulater and all sorts so you can play old ps1 games, N64 games on it when you are on the move.

The NGP is getting marketed to the "hardcore" gamers and is directly competing against the 3DS. With trophy support and friend tracking and ps3 graphics. Sony is trying to get their hands in all the cookie jars

Me personally will proberbly be getting both I am a massive Sony "fan boy" and I have had the same phone for a few years now and its on its last legs and I have had lots of boring long trips turned into "crap we are their already" trips so they are both on my hit list this year

Personally I dont thing the NGP is competing with the 3ds at all.

Same as the PSP wasnt competing with the DS...It may have have tried

and some of the deluded folks at Sony may have believed it as well.

But Nintendo still maintain almost a virtually a monopoly in the handheld market.

(Though I guess we will see as prices are announced maybe Im wrong and they

price it sensibly..I doubt it though All Sonys products are generally overpriced).

Problem seems to me with the PSphone  vs the NGP is that they are basically corning 

the same market (cool high tech gadgets).

The only difference is the PS phone is also a phone..which probably means the NGP

will loose sales.

The PSP, Gamegear etc are a pretty fair indicators that "hardcore" handhelds

do not really work. Even more so when you consider Sony is going to price itself

more than likely out of the market. Infact if they dont..they will loose money straight off the bat.

I think the PSphone = Great idea.

NGP = silly idea.

Sony should be a little more patient if you ask me.

Concentrate on the PS3 which has gained alot of momentum

since MGS 4 in 2008 . and stretch the life of the PSP, maybe at a lower pricepoint

to compete with the DS.

And if you must look at a new console devote manpower to developing

the next home console. Im sure Microsoft has

Actually the NGP is sposed to be around the same price as the 3DS. I know I know very surprising lol

I think thats wishful thinking (though personally I think the 3ds is overpriced)

Ive read afew rumours slating it realistically at the price of a new PS3 320gb

(which I think is probably right) afew saying it will be less than the 3ds

and some saying it will price match it.

Whatever happens Sony will likely make it cost more (saying its a premium product)

Sony seem to do this with pretty much everything they make.

I mean even the PS2 cost more than the Xbox and Gamecube even though

it was an inferior (spec wise) system

Anyway we will just have to wait and see
