With Supanova 2012 over for Melbourne and Gold Coast, I'm looking forward to Sydney's chance to geek out!

Just discovered that Adam Baldwin has recently cancelled

I'm still looking forward to Christopher Lloyd, Hayden Panettiere, Mercedes McNab, Callum Blue, and definitely Matthew Reilly!

Colin Cunningham has recently cancelled due to filming committments, pretty sure he's yet to be replaced. Hopefully with someone high calibre

Who else is heading down to this? Anyone going to Perth?

Best experiences with Supanova in the past?

I had a great time at Supanova in Sydney last year. I organised a group of friends to go to the James Marsters concert in the evening (we lined up early and managed to get seats together in the third row). Memorable moments included a girl in the seat in front of me yelling out "I love you, James!", which made him turn his head towards me, and make eye contact as if I'd said it.

I enjoyed the Sean Maher Q&A earlier in the day, but my favourite panel was actually with David Nykl. David was full of energy as he bounded onto the stage and seemed genuinely excited to interact with his fans. 

Although Supanova was great fun last year, I'm not sure if I'll make the trip up to Sydney this time around. For anyone who does go, I suggest getting there early as the queue to get in was simply massive on Saturday morning.

I should admit I've never been to a convention, are they worth going to?

I mean I'm not one to wait in line for an hour to get someone's autograph, is there plenty more besides that.

I think that conventions are worth going to just so that you can rub shoulders with other fans. I didn't stand in line for photos or autographs last year and I have no regrets. You get to walk around and see all kinds of cosplayers from 5 different versions of Matt Smith's Doctor, to a fabulous 7.5' Wonder Woman - in drag no less. The Q&A panels take about an hour each, by the time they get everyone seated. So, if there are a few panels you are interested in attending, then you should have an enjoyable day.

I recommend going with a friend or two, if only to laugh at some of the more bizarre merchandise. Or, in my case, take a photo of you with R2D2 (The R2 builder's guild is a must-see booth for me).
