Myself and a couple of colleages were recently talking about good vampires and werewolves etc on TV and in movies.

In my opinion, you've got Buffy / Angel and everything in that universe - and they'll always be #1 in my books.

Being Human UK - currently finished it's 4th season - not sure where it's going from there - but it's likely I'll keep watching.

True Blood - Season 5 starting soon. Looking forward to more of something that's slightly left of centre.

On a very recent google search to mention anything I may have forgotten, I discovered that "Dark Shadows" (the new movie with Johnny Depp) appears to be a remake of a 500+ episode TV series from a while ago. Not surprised, but disappointed in the lack of originality in Hollywood these days.

What are your thoughts?

Supernatural used to be really good (not entirely off-topic, there was all sorts of nasties in there lol). Bit cheesy at times, but I was always a fan of the use of music in the show too. "Carry on my wayward son" was used multiple times, which elevates the status of it three-fold

Movie-wise, I quite liked From Dusk 'Til Dawn. B-grade, funny, and Salma Hayek. Perfect

Blade was a kick azz character, although the trilogy gradually went down hill...

I still reckon it's pretty decent, although they could have wrapped it up a couple of seasons ago. Carry on My Wayward Son is used at least once per season I swear. Was used in the season finale again this year. Cas and Dean are always good for laugh.

Once Upon a Time isn't too bad. Really thought it would be a chick's show but there is enough there for me. I have an odd fascination with the Evil Queen when she is in her get up. In the real world, in the show, however she looks a lot more plain Jane.

Game of Thrones is the best show on TV atm and there is a bit of supernatural stuff in that (dragons and the smoke monster from Lost  ).

As SBS mentioned, True Blood is decent. I watch the US version of Being Human which has the guy behind the Apprentice from the Force Unleashed games. Teen Wolf is watchable as well.

I'm fond of Dr Helen Magnus (Amanda Tapping) and her bunch of abnormals from Sanctuary - which I understand was recently cancelled, too bad.

I'm also a fan of Supernatural, Sam & Dean rock and I get a laugh out of the various pop culture references throughout the show.

No one mentioning the boy Wizard.

I saw the movie Dark Shadows, I actually enjoyed it. It was quite weird, but quirky.

Underworld...those movies were amazing. Yet to see the latest one...I have it, but just havent been in the mood to watch it.
Blade - I dont know why you guys say it went down hill, another bunch of movies I enjoyed. Ryan Reynolds really did well in Blade: Trinity. Added a bit of comedy to the mix

Another old TV show that was a good supernatural one was Charmed...I enjoyed that show when I was a kid. haha.

This might be as good a time as any to ask: are those Twilight movies any good?

They just look like some stupid teen love story to me and thus far I haven't seen a single one.  Is there more to them.

I mean I did avoid Harry Potter for the longest time.

Cheesy on the outside with a third layer as well, that's the same as the first.

^^ This. The first one is the worst movie I've ever seen. They do get progressively better imo, but they are all horrible movies that you should avoid like the plague.
