A BIG 'THANK YOU' goes to the Spanish MVP Wiraj for creating this banner just for our tournament. In case you haven't spotted it, it includes the national flags of the eight communities taking part.
Hi everyone,
this is the official 'rules' thread for the ModNation racers European Tournament. Also, we will post the results of the matches in this thread every week to keep you updated. May the best team win!!!
Communities taking part:
- Russia
- Spain
- France
- Poland
- Portugal
- Italy
- Germany
- UK & Ireland
Team sizes
We will open just one gaming room per match. That means that each community’s team should consist of no more than 5 players plus one moderator/MVP. In addition, 3 'emergency' players will be allowed for each team in case some players from the 'official' team fall ill/don't have time to participate in a particular match, etc.
Match’structure’
Each match consists of 8 races, 5 action races and 3 ‘normal’ races (without weapons). The two moderators or MVPs hosting the match in question should decide on which tracks to race on. Custom made tracks are also allowed as long as both moderators/MVPs agree on it.
Points
For all of the below stages of the tournament, points will be awarded to the best 5 players in each race (note: each match consists of 8 races), structured as detailed below.
In each single race, the top 5 players will be awarded scores. At the end of the match, the moderators/MVPs will add up all the scores the players from their community have gained during the 8 races.
Scores: 1. (position) 10 points
2. (position) 7 points
3. (position) 5 points
4. (position) 3 points
5. (position) 1 point
Qualifying stage
In this stage, each team will race against every other team (7 matches/communities to race against for each team). We have allocated a time slot of 7 weeks for this, which means your team will play 1 match per week. The Christmas and New Year period will serve as a holiday which players might want to use to attend a thumb spa (just kidding). The qualifying stage will thus be from Monday 29th of November to Sunday 19th of December (first three weeks) AND Monday 3rd of January to Sunday 30th of January.
Once this stage is finished, we will add the scores to find the Top 4 communities.
Semi-Final
The top four communities will take part in the Semi-Final. Here, the first and fourth placed communities will race against each other, as will the second and third placed communities. The Semi-Final will take place in the week from Monday 31st of January to Sunday 6th of Febuary. The scores will be the same as before and will determine the top two communities.
Final
The top two communities will race against each other in the final and thus determine the winner of the competition. The Final will take place in the week starting Monday 7th of Febuary 2011.
Match dates
Exact match dates should be determined by the two communities involved in each match. Below you will find an outline of which community races against which in which week.
Qualifying stage:
Monday 29th of November to Sunday 19th of December

Monday 3rd of January to Sunday 30th of January

Dear ModNationRacers,
I hope you are all well and are enjoying the European tournament so far. I just wanted to remind you all that we are having a little tournament break from next week (starting Monday 20th) up to the first Sunday of the new year (2nd January 2011). So the next races will take place in the week starting on Jan 3rd.
Also, I would like to apologize as some of the rules stated above haven't been precise enough. One thing I would like to note in particular is the following rule concerning the sizes of teams:
'We will open just one gaming room per match. That means that each community’s team should consist of no more than 5 players plus one moderator/MVP.'
What I should have added is that the moderator/MVP is part of the team and is not only supposed to make sure the event runs smoothly, but also to take part as a racer himself/herself/it
self. Therefore, the moderator or MVP can also score points for their own team.
I am sorry I haven' t made this clearer before and hope that we will all be able to focus on what this tournament is really all about, namely FUN!![]()
Hope you are all having a great Christmas and a happy New Year!

so 5 or 6 players ??
why favorizing teams where moderator/MVP is a good rider ??
can we have 5 players then, and one person without moderator/MVP but we will call him "manager" or something ??
and as its writed
"Each match consists of 8 races, 5 action races and 3 ‘normal’ races (without weapons). The two moderators or MVPs hosting the match in question should decide on which tracks to race on."
what if they don't decide ?? we should ride first 8 tracks ??
(some moderators didn't ask other - just choose on his own)
PS. sorry for my english if i make mistakes ![]()

Each team consists of six participants. To ensure that all participants adhere to the rules each team is supported by a moderator or MVP. Obviously the moderators/MVPs are part of their community and are allowed to score points for their community. ![]()
If the moderators/MVPs would like to select tracks made by users (not from users of the two communities taking part in the match of course) both parties should agree on this. This is not necessary for UFG tracks of course.
I hope this answers your questions ![]()

i still don't know what to do if 2 MVP/moderators can't talk to each other and cannot decide which track's should we ride on
example:
MVP number 1 want to ride tracks 3, 6, 9, 13* and one random with weapons and track 5, 11* and one random without
MVP number 2 want 1* and 2* and 3 random with weapon adn 4,10, 12* without
so they don't agree
which tracks will we ride on ??
is there some "standard" version ?? like we ride 1,2,3,4,5 with weapon and 6,7,8 without ??
*numbers 1,2,3,etc means number of the original(UFG) track in MNR (i'm a little lazy to put names here
)
