Getting vita drivers to work with Windows 8 DP/CP

Just thought I'd put up a guide for people who were having problems installing the driver for the vita, took me a while to get it working, it's that Windows 8 forces you to install signed drivers and doesn't even give you the option of installing anyway which Windows 7/XP do.

1. Press Windows Key + R (The "Run" box)
2. Enter "shutdown.exe /r /o /f /t 00"
3. Press OK
4. Select "Troubleshoot" from the "Choose an option" screen
5. Select "Advanced options" from "Troubleshoot" screen
6. Select "Windows Startup Settings" from "Advanced options" screen
7. Click "Restart" button
8. Select "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement"

9. Back on your computer, go to Program Files (x86) > SCE > Pss > tools > vita > driver and install using dpinst

Hopefully this is helpful to someone :smileyhappy:

Re: Getting vita drivers to work with Windows 8 DP/CP

How have you gotten the PS Suite to work with Windows 8? The driver problem is not my main issue atm, as I can not even run the PSSuite SDK... I can however run the UI Dev tool!

Thanks in advance!

Re: Getting vita drivers to work with Windows 8 DP/CP

There are a few steps to getting PS Suite working with WIn 8, i've detailed here.

Basically you need to manually install .Net 2-3.5 as a Windows feature before running the install, or the GTK# installer will fail ( without telling you ), so Studio nor UIComposer will run.

Then you need to set an environment variable to get MSBuild working side by side with .NET 4.5.

Re: Getting vita drivers to work with Windows 8 DP/CP

Hi folks,

I've signed the drivers for my personal use, and they're available here: http://community.eu.playstation.com/t5/General/Installing-Vita-Drivers-in-Windows-8-RTM-x64/td-p/168...

This should remove the need to disable driver signature enforcement until Sony releases drivers that are code signed.

Good luck!
