PS Suite Overview

Hello I just joinned and downloaded the Suite a couple of hours ago but i really know nothing about it and I had to run off to work before i could really look at anything.

I was wondering if anyone could give me a general overveiw of the suite's capablities sample projects, a hello world and such or online refernce material.

Stuff i can look at read through during long complie times at work  so when i get home i can jump into something quick.-_-'

Re: PS Suite Overview

Hi Webbut,

First of all, welcome to the PlayStation Suite Community Forums!

PlayStation Suite comes bundled with a whole collection of samples which show off many of it's great capabilities, which are available for you to try out.

You can access these samples from: Start > All Programs > PS Suite > "Open Sample Folder"

or alternatively, C:\Users\Public\Documents\Pss\sample .

There are a whole range of demonstrations which you can see which cover things such as getting started to full game demos.

If you'd like any more information, please do not hesitate to ask.

Thanks,

James

Re: PS Suite Overview

This might be a dumb question, but how do you open up the sample projects with the PS Suite?

Thanks!

Re: PS Suite Overview

Hi Missingbullet69

All questions welcome :smileywink:

First you will need to open PssStudio, which will be the tool (IDE) that you use to edit and write your applications. To open it, go to: Start > All Programs > PS Suite > PssStudio

Once this launches go to File > Open. You will will need to browse to the samples directory, which is located at: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Pss\sample

Taking the ActionGameDemo as an example, navigate into the GameEngine2D folder and double click on ActionGameDemo. You'll then need to click on the Solution file (ActionGameDemo.sln) and then click Open, and the ActionGameDemo sample should open.

Once you are ready to run the sample, you can press F5.

The other samples are located in the other folders in the sample directory.

Hope this helps
James
