If you are an absolute beginner, I recommend starting with C over trying to find a C# tutorial. Most tutorials I've seen in C# skip the basics. Also most colleges teach C which means you can find their notes.
This is what my school taught from and they used no books. This site was "our book".

Granted this is not C#, its C, but the concepts apply the same and the way you do it is nearly the same.
Sections 1-8 (Basics / How to loop)
Sections 11-12 Arrays
Section 13 Calling Functions
If you read those, I think you would get the main ideas. There is also plenty of examples.
Reason I suggest C over C#, is because C# is an object-oriented language.. Its not a coincidence most schools require an intro to C course before touching an OO course.

Granted, you could still however just go with C#. I just don't know of any good ones for starting from scratch + examples.
Also, I'm sure if you open some of the example files with PSS, the code is overwhelming. The developers of PSS didn't seem to want to want to make their sample code simple to follow on some of the examples.
