Re: Welcome to the DC Universe Online forum!

On the account section of the XMB, go to "Services" and select DCUO, it should have the choice to cancel auto-renewal.

Please use plain text.

Re: Welcome to the DC Universe Online forum!

Sorry for the long post, but as you can see I have add an up hill strucle untill now.

I bought DCUO for PS 3 from Geekay Games in United Arab Emirates on 11 February. All the installations went fine until I hit the 117Mb patch that need to download. The orange bare fill quickly and there is no green bar that follows it. It downloads to 77Mb left and then restarts the process again from 117Mb. It does this for a few times after witch I get the following message “ Game is unavailable for maintenance please try again later”.
I followed various actions:
• Looked online for people that have the same problem and found that this is common in UAE. Some of these clever guys gave solution but none worked.
• I deleted all the installed files and started the install process from the start again, I did this 3 times.
• We have broadband connection with 1Mb signal and use a D-link wireless connection. So I ended up running the internet connection through my Laptop with wire connection and then tried it, nothing.
• We tried to download it through a VPN called Hotspot Shield, but when I put the VPN on I cannot connect the PS 3 to the Internet. I get kicked of even when I connect the VPN while the game is downloading.
• I tried connecting directly with the broadband cable to the PS 3, nothing.
• I want to call the help line at England UK but it bought DCUO on Friday night and online help is closed until MONDAY 19:00 my time here in the UAE.
• I took my PS 3 to a friend with 4Mb (faster) and tried all the above there, nothing.
• Even tried silly stuff like installing it with all the controllers plugged into the PS 3 and like changing time settings. This information we got from clever guys on the internet.
Please HELP, I feel like jumping on the CD. I do not know what to do anymore.

Regards,
Sias Steyn

Greetings siassteyn,

Have you tried turning off Media Server before attempting to start the download? Media Server has been known to cause issues when downloading.

Thank you for the reply. No I haven’t tried putting the Media Server off before.
I turned off the Media Server and started the process of download as of the 117 Mb patch. It did not solve the problem.
I just now deleted all the DCUO files on my PS 3 system and started the process of download from the beginning again. I made sure that the Media Server is disabled.

Will let you know tomorrow when the download process should have finished.

Regards,

Greetings siassteyn,

Please do, as we are trying to get to the bottom of this. Media Servers being disabled have helped in the past. Good Luck, i hope you get to play soon :smileyhappy:

Ok we followed all the instructions on the link for the DMZ, also tried all the quick fixes that were recommended. We also deleted all the files again and did the install process from the start (to be honest after 6days I am losing all hope)
Am I the only one that bought DCUO in United Arab Emirates and cannot install the file?
All goes well until the 117Mb patch, when it hits 77Mb left it stops and restarts the download, the orange status also makes it to almost the end. It will restart this process for a few times and then give me the message “game unavailable for maintenance. Please retry in a few minutes.”

Greetings,

Thank you for contacting Sony Online Entertainment in regards to your installation issues with DC Universe Online for the Playstation 3.

I am sorry to hear that our suggestions did not resolve the issue. I would like for you to make sure you are directly connected to your modem/router via ethernet cord when playing or trying to install files for this game onto your PS3. I would also like for you to take a look into our Knowledge Base regarding issues such as the one you are experiencing. I will provide a link below that will display several methods to contact Sony Playstation Support. Please contact them as I believe they can provide you further assistance with your console issues.

I am sure that I am directly connected with the ethernet cord.
We tried right through the night with no success.
Sorry is not going to cut it, I have spend money and an insane amount of my free time attempting to install a product that does not work as it comes of the shelves in the United Arab Emirates. I have been on hold for 40 minutes on a long distance call to the DCUO US help line waiting to be answered after which I was revered to PSN helpline within a minute of talking. From the PSN help line I received a little bit more help and once again got referred to another area namely online support (you guys – which I have done even before I started to call) and FAQ areas. It looks to me that DCUO and PSN does not have adequate trained staff to solve problems online and on the telephone. So PLEASE can you give me contact details of a properly trained Technician in the United Arab Emirates that I can talk to personally and get to the bottom of this problem. I WILL let you know in this thread if I manage to solve this problem so that no one else in the United Arab Emirates has to go through the same frustration again.
Or can you guys not get hold of DCUO buyers in the United Arab Emirates that had this problem and managed to solve it.
A last bit of information, my broadband connection is with Etisalat. Could they not have blocked or have software that interfere with the download of the 117Mb patch.

Sias Steyn

Re: Welcome to the DC Universe Online forum!

I see now on the Geekay games FB page that Etisalat blocks the site that it dowload the patch from. They also say that we must install it through do or give etisalat a call and report the problem. We are a lot of gamers taht have this problem in the UAE.

Re: Welcome to the DC Universe Online forum!

Same problem, any solutions yet? It's taking to freaking long!!

Re: Welcome to the DC Universe Online forum!

Anyone? I am still getting game is unavailable for maintenance, please try again later.

PLEASE ANYONE?

Re: Welcome to the DC Universe Online forum!

Ok, one of the solutions I got from someone was to try and use a VPN to see if the patch will download or not.

I just tried and it didn't work =/ the very same thing happened. Patch gets to 19% and suddenly restarts (no message until the third time which gives me "The game is unavailable for maintenance" message).

I am going nuts here =/

Re: Welcome to the DC Universe Online forum!

Yes same problem here and it's very frustrating!

I've called Sony UAE support - sent ann email and posted on their facebook and spoken to their PR agency (I'm a writer) and nothing yet!

Mine get's stuck on the loop at 244MB - goes to 197 and then starts again until it eventually reaches the 'unavailable for maintenance' message that everyone is gettting. Tried everything that OP has and nothing.

I've already activated the 30 days subscription as you are prompted to at the start so is that wasting away as well??

Very annoyed!

Re: Welcome to the DC Universe Online forum!

I was told it's a ISP problem but I tried with a VPN and still the same thing happened :smileyfrustrated:
Please use plain text.

Re: Welcome to the DC Universe Online forum!

It can't be that because I have the loop at 244 MB and others have it at 117 MB - also if it was an ISP problem the rest would not dl either - Sony we need a solution here please!
