A quick question, after I rest at a bonfire and quit the game, will my collected souls be saved or will I start from zero again when I restart?

Your souls are saved, although I'm guessing you've turned the system off already.

You don't even need to rest at a bonfire. The game autosaves after every single combat victory, so you can turn it off whenever you want then just resume exactly as you left it.

You can avoid it sometimes, but you have to try really hard to do it (and possibly risk corrupting your save in the process).

Thanks, although I did grind on until I could buy a new level, it's good to know for the future.

This game is strangely addictive for being so rock-hard

That's what games of today seem to have forgotten - there's no sense of achievement if there is no struggle.
