hey, iv pre-ordered mine from videogamesplus.ca, just wonderd if there is any difference between the american version and this version as its from canada ? would any future dlc have to be bought from the canadian store (if there is one) or would dlc from the american store work ? (obviously just a hypethetical question)  thanks in advance

Im guessing it would be the canadian store as its a seperate country to America and they use the canadian dollar

- I've ordered from there too.  I'm pretty sure there is only one version of the game for America, so Canada/USA is the same.  DLC might require store specific purchases but I would assume the Canadian and USA stores have the same content.  However there has been no DLC released for it yet in Japan, and it has tons to offer on the disc anyway, so I'm not concerned. 

 NOTE: 'America' refers to the continent, 'USA' is the country

1) I know there's a New Game+ feature, but does it get progressively harder each time you do it or is it just moving from "Regular Game" to "Harder Game"?

2) Is it a difficult platinum trophy?

3) Are online players matched around your Soul Level or does it pick someone at random?

4) I've noticed when I put down my stone while in Soul Form, I got put in a group of 2 others and we went to fight the Tower Knight. It took a lot less damage and hit a LOT harder compared to when I fought it on my own (Body Form), so I was wondering if I might've got pulled into a New Game+ game there or if the difficulty scales on the number of active players?

1. not sure about that, haven't done a complete yet lol
2. I think its only as difficult as the game is difficult, theres no daft 20,000 online kills trophies or anything like that.
3. You get to pick who you want to join you by reading there soul stone thingy and seeing how many times they been online and what there ratings are
4. hmmm, you may have a point with this game+ stuff. I dont think its meant to get much harder with help cos what then would be the point of getting help

Either I'm doing really, really badly or there doesn't seem to be much of a level limit when black phantoms keep invading my game. All but one have killed me with one hit (the other ran into a dragon's fire breath ). Is it pretty much a free-for-all when PvP is involved or are there some restrictions on it?

I think most black phantoms are players that have some pretty good armour, spells and weapons. Cos they don't wanna go losing, and obviously some are doing it just to be pains in the rear.

Levels reset when they load, so as long as you don't leave the level you can come back to your item(s).

What happens if you're carrying all you can and you find something else to pick up?

I carry around a ring of increased strength, which I put on when I'm carrying too much. I don't like to rely on it all the time though.

How hard would people say defeating Black Phantoms is?  What do you think your success rate is if you've played the game?

I find black phantoms hard for 2 reasons (I pretty much get invaded every single time I get my body back, and I lose pretty much every time too).

The primary reason they are hard is lag: they swing their sword but look out of range so you don't waste stamina on a block or roll, but they hit you anyway (it's the same as the 6ft knife issue in CoD or Battlefield).

The other reason is that (most) black phantom's equipment/magic is configured for player killing, where as my equipment/magic is configured for whatever level I am tackling.

It just keeps getting harder. Ad infinitum (e.g. NG+, NG++, NG+++....). Make sure you farm items before starting a new game as it will be easier towards the end than at the beginning.

More time consuming. You need to complete the game at least four times for platinum, and some requirements involve pure tendancy which I've never managed to achieve (not that I've really tried) in over 120 hours. Just mention pure bladestone to anyone trying for platinum and watch them shudder...

Online players must be between +/- 10 levels of you to be able to join (either competitively or co-operatively). Although people may have spent their levels in very different ways so they will feel a lot stronger.

The difficulty scales according to the number of players, and also you take less damage in soul form.

Demon's Souls English Wiki is an invaluable resource to all players of this game. It clearly marks spoilers, so you can browse it without fear, although, to be honest, the spoilers aren't that spoiling
