Demon's Souls

Bosses give you souls in two ways.

Firstly, they give you a large chunk as soon as they die, just like any other enemy.

Secondly, they drop their Demon Soul for you to loot. You can use these for an instant handful of souls to spend, but you will have to wait until you beat the game and start again (affectionately known as New Game+) if you want to loot them again and convert them into a spell or a weapon upgrade.

Yeah, you can only use a boss soul once per playthrough. I think there is one soul in the game that has about 4 uses for spells/ miracles and weapons. This means that you have to essentially get to NG+++.

Alex - I'm struggling to finish NG+ not because its hard but, because its too easy! I know all the tricks to defeating the enemy now and my guy just destroys the bosses like a knife through butter. I'm not even using magic to kill them now. How you got to NG++++ is beyond me!

A fresh character is the best as you start from scratch again. 170ish knight and it takes far too long to level up as I basically have to grind to level.

MINOR SPOILER couple of days ago, i killed the same enemy in 4-2 (reaper) over and over for 2/3 hours just to level up what must've been 5-8 levels. /END

That's right. Old Monk and Maiden Astraea's souls are used for 4 different things.

It does get pretty easy,the game is so short when you know where everything is and what to do. I've just been trying to get all the magic, items, rings and upgrades on one character. Haven't had an interest in making another one yet. Just started playthrough #6 too.

The best way I found to level (still grinding, but you're also going for that infamous Pure Bladestone as well).

I've seen that one before Gily, only problem is that I need to level up my magic another 5 levels to be able to hold thirst and soulsucker

I found one after about an hour. Although I didn't do it that way.

Finally got the platinum too. Now for playthrough #7...

Where? That black phantom  guarding the white bow in 4.2?

What is your luck stat? Did you use Sword of Searching or other booster (if there are any)?

Yes, that one in the"secret" passage.

Luck stat was only 12. I had the Large Sword of Searching in my left hand and my Talisman of Beasts in my right hand.

Basically, Adjudicator Archstone -> run inside the first bit with the reaper -> fall off the ledge to the left -> run up the stairs into secret passage -> firestorm -> loot -> run off cliff -> repeat.
