Well first of all, hello everyone..

I'm new to these forums, so just thought i'd do the decent thing and say hi 

Well my question is this:

Is the online side to this game still somewhat active?

The reason is because i am desperately seeking the monks headwrappings, but i've been trying to invade someones game as the monk for what seems like ever now, and i'm just left standing around with no game to join. 

Am i wasting my time?  orrrr...

Can anyone help out?

Sorry about posting it in the general part of the forums, but the rpg board seems somewhat dead at the mo.

i found quite a few people online the other day in world 4-1 (reaper farming?). put my blue soul sign down and someone started summoning me straight away, unfortunately my internet then decided it couldn't connect to the demon souls server and kicked me back to the title screen

i just bought the game so i'm still on my first playthrough, maybe your soul level is too high for the current players? if you wait long enough i haven't beaten the old monk yet - i'll get there eventually but i'm nowhere near soul level 120

Have you defeated the monk? If so you can't be the monk now until your next game. You can also put blue stones (where you offer help) and you can become the monk.

I found the best place to put a stone down is on the big set of stairs leading up to the boss Fool's Idol.

Ughhhh, i've just defeated the monk in NG+..

So this means i can't play as the monk until NG++???  

I've searched this quite thoroughly online (i thought), and no-where does it say that it won't work if you have already beaten him.

you can be the monk whenever, if you beat him or not.

I have specific lvl 180 for just the monk and invading peoples worlds.

I just put my blue stone down usually before u go up the stairs towards him, it's very rare you don't get summoned as him, never get summoned by players there...

I've beat all my worlds so i can invade any area at will, i have no issues with the monk.

Yes your still be able to be the monk even though you have beat him

Im about the same sl as you, can pass a monk hat your way if you still want one, or i can go and fight the monk when your stones down and see if it summons you in there

I managed to find someone online that kindly gave me the item, but thanks again for the offer, it's greatly appreciated.

If anyone wants to do some online play, maybe go do a few levels or something, then feel free to add me on psn.

It is only somewhat active, not as many players as the game is 2 years old now. The Dark Souls Release Date is coming up soon though. It comes out in October, that game should be very active for a while when it comes out.
