I was on the wiki and it says to get the Frgrant Ring, you trade the telescope Ostrava gives you in 1-1 with Sparkly the Crow in 4-1. 

I did this, quit to main menu and then reloaded but the telescope is gone and there is no ring!  Has any one else tried this, have I done something wrong?

Make sure you place it near enough for the Crow to acknowledge by saying "Happy" or words to that effect.  If not, you may have placed it where she doesn't recognise it and its likely lost now.

Alternatively, there are various ways to get it: Fragrant ring locations.

Btw, you don't need to quit to main menu.  Just go to options and reload the profile you are using.

Thanks for that. didn't realise it was available in a couple other places too. Thought I was going to have to restart my character again!

Also as you progress and make "certain" weapons and find "certain" spices and obtain more souls, you will probably not need to use tis ring in the later part of the game, this ring only really helps you as a starter/new person.

I'm lucky since I already have the ring due to me choosing royal!

Yeah I've started over with a Royal and I'm having a lot more fun.  Far more customisation options.  Still have my hunter though for practice and making silly mistakes.

yeah, royal is definitely the best starting class for first timers (like myself) i think its due to it handling much like a standard character in other RPGs cough-oblivion-cough as you have a bit of ranged, a bit of up close, a suit that lets you move pretty fast, and magic that regenerates over time...definitely a more familiar build than some of the other classes out there! as for the fragrant ring, i must be about SL 25 now, and i've had it equipped the whole time! so don't take its importance lightly
