Jonah Hex

[ Edited ]

Hey all

Just wondering if anyone has checked out this series on the store?  You might actually have heard of it quite a bit recently due to a new film being released last week starring Josh Brolin, John Malkovich and Megan Fox.

We're got issues 1-24 available on the Comics Store, here's the description of the first edition:

"Saddle up and ride shotgun with the original bad man of the Wild West during an age of plunder, greed and lawlessness. When a millionaire"s only son is kidnapped, Hex is called on to track down and recover the boy. But a simple missing-person case turns into a hunt for vengeance as Hex unleashes his special brand of justice on the unsuspecting culprits."

You can find the selection of Jonah Hex for PlayStation Comics here:

And of course there is the film which came out on the 17th of June in the US and the 3rd of September here in the UK.

It might be one of those cases where you see a film and you want to read the book, or the other way round.  What do you think of both?

Re: Jonah Hex

First off, I'm not a fan of Brolin or Fox. So the movie didn't appeal to me, not even a rental...I really couldn't care less about the movie.

Now about the character itself, there was an episode of JLU with him in it, made him all awesome and such, it makes me wanna read the comics...just been putting it off in favor of something else.

Re: Jonah Hex

I've been reading all the Jonah Hex issues so far. It goes into my shopping basket every week. Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray have done a fantastic job with the character, and the series is great to just pick up and read as pretty much every issue is a stand alone story.

The film, from what I know uses more of the supernatural Jonah Hex stuff from the older Hex stories.
