Surely DC have to get onboard now! - DC Universe: Legends

Right, first incase someone isn't aware of this, Sony Online Entertainment are working with DC to create the massively multi-player online game DC Universe Online for PC and PS3, and since 2008 SOE have fallen under the control of Sony Computer Entertainment.

So today DC announced that they are for releasing a weekly comic later this year which is tied into the universe of DC Universe Online which is attempting to connect with gamers, and will give you some tips on how to play the game and may even include player created characters in the story line.

With all that being said, surely DC have to get on board with PSN comics, even if it is only to release DC Universe Legends? If they don't, I will have no clue what they are trying to do. A big percentage of the people they will want to be buying this weekly comic are the people playing the game, and how better could you offer it to PlayStation users than through the platform they are already used to, the PlayStation Network?

[ Edited ]

According to an interview with DC comics last month, DC are still in a wait and see state because they believe fans still prefer holding a paper copy of a comic rather than it's digital equivalent.  DC say they are waiting for a digital standard for the comics medium.  While Marvel on the other hand is willing to try out new things, take risks, etc.

I agree, I'm certainly interested in downloading some classic DC stuff. DC are correct, when a title is new I prefer a paper copy, but for older stories that I've heard about but never picked up, I'm much more willing to download the issues than get the Trade Paperback (hint to the Digital Comics team, release compilation comics in TPB form!!).

Bring on the DC!
