Wildstorm closing?

So I read recently that Wildstorm comics is closing. I know their owned by DC, and that under the label of Wildstorm, we got zuda comics. Is any of this going to change on the store? Dc is still around, but with wildstorm closing, does the ip under its label go with it?

Re: Wildstorm closing?

I read that too. It seems Wildstorm is closing, but many of it's licenses will be changed to the DC banner. I certainly hope what is currently present on the store isn't dropped. I'm current with and have really been enjoying catching up with WildCATs. I hope it continues to be delivered here to Digital Comics.

Re: Wildstorm closing?

Yeah there's quite a few zuda comics i read, and would love to keep going with. But I know some creator's own their ips, and since Wildstorm was Jim Lee's company, I didn't know if he owned some rights or other ones owned some rights or what. but glad to hear some are just changing to the dc banner. Hopefully they stay on the store just the logo changes lol. *prays*.

Re: Wildstorm closing?

We are not aware of any changes at present. All the Zuda and Wildstorm comics are listed as DC anyway. I'll let you know if we hear anything.

Re: Wildstorm closing?

Thanks Snowcrashed for some dev reassurance. I checked and the two top ones I read are from Zuda or Markisoa so, I gotta make sure those stick around lol. Hopefully it'll keep going, just with a company going down, even under an umbrella, ya never know what changes maybe made in closing.

Re: Wildstorm closing?

From what I know all the video game licences etc. that Wildstorm have been handling with continue, but will just be transferred over to DC. What I'm not sure about is any of the upcoming creator owned stuff that Wildstorm was putting out like Victorian Undead, I don't know if we will see DC continue to release the second volume that was in the works.

What does seem like it will be coming to a end though are the Wildstorm Universe titles such as Wildcats and The Authority, at least in the mean time. They might reappear under the DC banner at some point though.

Wildstorm being closed down shouldn't effect the Wildstorm comics on the store though as Wildstorm was totally owned by DC. It's a just a case of them restructuring the company and shutting down the Wildstorm imprint, it's not like Insomnia Publications going under because of money issues.
