IMHO, all the Midas games were cheap and they looked and played like it. But that is just my opinion. Sounds like you should check out Grand Prix Legends on PC format. If you want to play PS2 games, play them on a PS2. There are plenty of excellent games that are cheap to buy. My G25 works fine with most PS2 driving games on a PS2.

Nope PS3 USB wheels don't work on PS2 games.

The USB driver for the wheels were not invented and not included in the Software DVD.

The same applies to other addons for PS3 like, BT mics for voice coms.

Or how logitech put it.

We do not support using our wheels on legacy games on the Playstation3 console. This is because the console does not allow full access to the USB port to the PS2 game emulator, and PS1 consoles are unable to use USB wheels. This is a behavior of the console that we are unable to modify.

Translation = The USB driver won't be in the software that can access the USB ports. 

You would need a wired connection PS2 wheel that emulated the DS2 and a DS2 to USB converter for PS3.

I am playing a lot of games still on my old PS2, I will try pick it up cheap second hand.

The Logitech GT is probably the best of breed of easy to find GT compatible wheels for the PS2.

If you do happen to find one, however, be very wary of well used ones. I have owned a gagle of them and they do wear out. If the rim wiggles loosely on its centre, walk away from it. In addition to that, looseness could also be signs of even more serious damage inside.

The pedals are also a source of major headaches.
