yea... mine does this too.  i have the original 60gig backwards compatible one and it freezes quite a bit.  i wasn't sure if it was just my ps3 or not and i got a little scared.  at first i thought it might be a problem with my ps3 overheating or something.  but this freakin stinks!!!  midnight club is a great game, too bad i might not be able to race my friends online.  hope the problem gets fixed

it's more frustrating b/c there's a lot of ppl who don't have this problem... ugh.

Wow  ur right!!! it makes total sence now!! when i did more missions my game froze less often!! THANK SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! P.S How did u figure that all out???

mine only freezes sometimes when i'm online and i change cars i'll drive 4 a little then when the design on it loads it freezes probably cause it has about 100 layers to load on some of my cars and sometimes i'll freeze in the garage yhen i try to copy to many layers

yes it does the same thing to me. but i figured out if it starts to skip/ glitch stop driving or hit the PS button.

its worked so far for me so.

i just bought this game 2 days ago the complete edition,and its froze atleast 3 times a day,i got a phew games and mcla is the only game that freezes like this....im scared for my ps3.

its a great game tho.

The only fix for the freezing is to disable your net from your ps3 settings.The game seems to freeze when ever its picking up Internet connection.Most rockstar games tend to have that issue but for some reason they never realeased a patch for the MC L.A but dont worry turning of your internet connection will fix the problem.

i know im bringing back an old thread, but i just had to post here. i got mine 5 months ago and it locks up so much. i never thought of doing more missions. im around 45% done.

Hi there.

I just stumbled over this game and really like it. I spent quite a lot of time playing the last couple of days and only since yesterday it starts to freeze the whole PS3. I've got the old 60GB-Version.

Up until now the game only froze when I was running from the police and never during races or missions. Is that a total coincidence or has anyone else noticed similar behaviour? And about that internet-connection - mine is down because I am about to switch providers - so there is no possibility to connect, no LAN or WLAN of any sorts - and still my PS3 freezes. So much for the theory about disabling your internet-connection. Any other ideas? I'd really like to go on playing mcla, but I am a bit worried for my PS3 - is there actually a chance for it to get damaged? I would expect not, but I read something like that somewhere and since there are ways of damaging hardware by misusing software I thougt I better ask ...
