WRC 2: World Rally Championship 2011: Your thoughts?

I think it's a little ominous that nowhere seems to have a review of this even though it's out on Friday. Anyone getting this?

I wont be getting it until there's a few user reviews. I didn't like the last one, the handling to me was off.

Re: WRC 2: World Rally Championship 2011: Your thoughts?

DONT buy this game as with all games like this i download them on Pc to test them before there out and if they are good i buy.

After about 1 hour with this i can say its awful and you cant change steering settings such as saturation, deadzones etc, your only option is force feedback on/off

the handling is major understeer with the Logitech Driving Force GT wheel (the new one)

also I noticed the 2nd time i started up the game apparently the save data was currupt which would be annoying if you had spent hours on the game.

For now stick to DIRT 3 if rallying is a must, if not try F1 2011 or GT5

Who was it that made that pretty awesome WRC game on the PS3. Evolution Studios? I remember that was a good WRC game :smileyvery-happy:

Re: WRC 2: World Rally Championship 2011: Your thoughts?

It pains me to see Black Bean doing such a poor job with WRC and taking the franchise backwards. Evolution did a good job with the PS2 games and if we hadn't had such a large gap I think we'd be seeing better stuff now.
At the moment if I want to rally I have the first DiRT (if you can put up with floaty cars it's a good compromise) if using PS3. However, for my main rallying fix I'm back on the PS2 playing WRC 4. I got Colin McRae 2005 for PSP earlier in the year and it's very good. May get a copy for my PS2.

DiRT 3 is okay for rallying but the only problem is the stages are too short. I understand it's not a rally game but seriously, longer stages would've been nice.

I was going to get WRC 2 in the bargain bin but after seeing how much of last years game they recycled into this one I think I'll steer well clear (pardon the pun).

Personally I disagree, I think it is a fun game to play on and certainly feels alot more realistic when i play it on my DFGT. The only thing i would like to see is longer stages/more choice of stages, especially with the new Safari Rally DLC which gets you only 2 new stages which i disagree with. I enjoyed the first game as i am a huge WRC fan but i feel this game is more rounded off and complete compared to the old one. I also like the concept on the Road to the WRC mode from both games which is more of a complete experience compared to the old PS2 games.
