E3 2009

Ok ...saif I'd start it so I have (been a while since a thread had my name by it

Tis on from June 2-4 in LA and is brewing up to be a big one.

Sony are putting it out there about it being the biggest for a while....MS are frighteningly quiet....and Nintendo..well they don't seem to have to do anything to sell more consoles

Last year IGN had some great streaming coverage of the press conferences, but I'll endeavour to add links and specific times (when I get time )

Let the speculation begin......this thread could/should possibly be in consolerama as I think we shouldn'y just restrict the discussion to Sony....but I think it will get more attention here...feel free to pin or move mods (as you see fit)

I'm pretty sure all 3 heavy hitters will announce some big exclusives and maybe some new hardware or at least software - it's going to be a really big year at E3, each console has had time to settle down and buy in some exclusives with big names having enough of a development cycle to be released after such a long period. That didn't make sense.

Either way, looking forward to it and the announcements! Let's see if any can convince me to buy a Wii or 360...

I am really lookin forward to what surprises Sony have in store for us this year...

One thing I am expecting is the introduction

of stereostropic plated images in games.

We are seeing it with films. and discussions

were already abuzz last yr.

This yr I expect that afew games due for release in fourth 

quarter (or earlier) could have it..pretty cool imo ...

sighs consolerma is a shadow of its former self at the moment

Personally I'm expecting at least a Team Ico trailer.....

I'd like to see how the announced Beyond Good and Evil 2 is progressing....

and putting my neck out I have a feeling those sneaky monkeys at ND have been secretly working on a J+D PS3 title..yeah I know I'm hoping for the impossible....lol

I also sense MS have a couple of big surprises up their sleeves

Expect some nice new firmware announcements......the last update I sense was holding back some goodies ...

I'm really looking forward to the first glimpses of Modern Warfare 2. This is going to be the biggest game towards the end of the year for sure, as the last one is now the biggest selling game in the US.

I'm really looking forward to E3 this year, it's the first time in a long while that I've actually been anticipating it more than the Leipzig GC.

Anyway, I'm going to break this down into two sections...

What I'm expecting to see

PS3

• New God of War III Trailer and the first official reveal of gameplay footage.

• New Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Trailer and the first official reveal of gameplay footage.

• New Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time Trailer

• Announcement of new features in upcoming firmware (we talk and Sony's been listening when it comes to Firmware, for the most part)

Wii

• First official appearance of the WiiMotion Plus and it being used in front of a live audience.

• Announcement of a new Super Mario game.

XBOX 360

• Microsoft bagging out their competition.

• Microsoft revealing exclusives that they obtained by throwing huge sacks of money at it.

• New Mass Effect 2 Trailer with gameplay footage.

What I'd like to see

• Announcement of the PSP2.

• Announcement of a new Grand Theft Auto game for PS3 and XBOX 360.

• More on Gran Turismo 5.

• A new Legend of Zelda game announced for the Wii (Seriously, why does the DS get all the Zelda love?)

First of all, it's STEREOSCOPIC or STEREOSCOPY. In other words, using 3D glasses.

And second, GTA4 got released only mid last year, and i only got my copy at the end of last year. I'm still having a blast at multiplayer lol. I think if i were to see a new GTA i'd like it to be MMO like WoW where you can either do missions alone or with people, missions get added frequently either in patches to the game or DLC.

Or GTA: World, where you start with a country and other countries become DLC and going to and from places is in real time e.g. if you want to go to WA from Syd then you would have to fly there, or better still ROADTRIP!! .. Or mix the 2 that would be awesome , you would never need another GTA again

But yes i'm also looking forward to the PSP2, that should be awesome.

Seriously - they have to show SOMETHING of the new Fumito Ueda / Team ICO game.  Even if it's not playable, just give us some video footage, or a trailer, or a screenshot, or just get Fumito up on stage so we at least know he's still alive (unless they get some Weekend At Bernie's action going on).

Oh, and I'd be pretty certain of seeing some sort of PSP2 information.
