The 3D TVs that don't require glasses cant, at the moment, get up to the same resolution as other HDTV's in there price range....
I mean would you really pay £900 for a TV that could barley reach 720p, I think not
EDIT: And yes I think you do have to be sitting directly in front of the screen for it to work properly

im baffeled , if nintendo can produce 3d images on a 5 inch screen without the need for 3d glasses why the hell are we being sold large 3d monitors which need glasses? sorry if already been answered.
I dont know 100% how tech works but..
...I did read there is a tech that displays all the images at once. When i say all i mean it show all of the 3D images at once. Depending at which angle you llok at the screen depends on which "part" of the image the eyes pick up. Its good (maybe) but expensive and I doubt any HD images will come from it since it wont be able to show it all at once.
Also it wont show the image in "popping out of the screen" 3d, but rather "sinking away in to eternity" type 3D.
Remember those holographic silver thigs you could get from cereal boxes that when you rotated it looks like the image was "deep"....I imagine its the same
This is all specualtion of course....since I have no connections with nintendo (or do I hahaha)(no i dont actually)
(or does he)

BlueSkiesXXV wrote:The fact that the biggest announcements this year from Sony & Microsoft is MOVE & KINECT speaks volumes, as they are basically copying Nintendo.
Look at the worldwide sale figures:
1) Wii – 70.78 million (as of 10 May 2010)
2) Xbox 360 – 40 million as of (1 April 2010)
3) PlayStation 3 – 35.7 million (as of 31 March 2010)
Combine the PS3 & 360 sales and you are close to the number of Wii's that have been sold. Sony & Microsoft can only dream of second place.
The Wii may well not be for the hardcore gamer that is likely to visit forums such as this, but you have to give Nintendo Kudos for their sales results and for expanding the videogame industry.

How many of those Wii s are regular users though (ie more than 4 hours a week?) My missus has one that she played for about 3 months. It hasn't been touched for 18 months. And many of my collegues at work tell a similar story. I always said that the Wii's problem is that its a toy, a craze, not a gaming console. Its a craze on a par to tamagotchis, yo yos, mini scooters and them weird shoes with wheels in them.
I reckon that if you tot up the regular Wii users, you'll get at least 100 people lol-you get my point

From Engadget's hands-on with the 3DS, these things made me go ![]()
Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D "The Naked Sample," meanwhile, was very impressive for a camera-control-only hands-on. A pitch-perfect replica of the first jungle level of Metal Gear Solid 3, the demo showed the handheld more than capable of PS2-quality graphics, with enough seamlessly integrated pop-out and depth effects (the foliage) to emulate a window into Snake's little world.
Resident Evil Revelations had some of the best graphics we've ever seen on a mobile device, though they were only for close-cropped cutscenes of characters -- we doubt they can keep up this sort of fidelity throughout, and the title wasn't playable. Still, a modicum of camera control let us know what we were viewing was live-rendered, and it was impressive indeed.
Space shooter StarFox 3D was one editor's favorite, and not just because it was actually playable -- like Metal Gear Solid, the demo brought the original game's first level to life convincingly, but also showed off quite satisfactory physical controls. We flew under arches in StarFox and through hoops in PilotWings with deft little motions of the analog slider, which we found both less touchy and more grippy than Sony's PSP nub. And oh yes, double-taps of the 3DS shoulder buttons had us performing loads of barrel rolls.

Nintendo should have showed Xenoblade and The Last Saga, the two games that could make me buy a Wii, but they didn't, so they obviously don't want me as a customer. But it would suck if the games weren't released here in Europe, or weren't released outside of Japan at all.
