It’s got to be Agro from Shadow of the Colossus hasn’t it? In my head, though, I call him ‘Argo’ - ‘cos it sounds better.
The incidental head twitching and whinnies showed incredible attention to detail. He’s astonishingly life-like, and his presence provides companionship in the game's overwhelming solitude.
Best videogame horse ever. Makes the horses in Zelda: Twilight Princess and Oblivion look crap.

Also - I'd like to put in a mention for the absent Kazuma Kiryu from Yakuza. He's tough, honourable and dependable, and my favourite human gaming character of the year
