Everybody's Golf

I just bought Hot Shots Golf World Tour but everytime I try to go online it says "File download failed, please wait a few moments then try again. For service information, please visit the information site.

Every other game I own works fine online and I can even load up the website from within hot shots, but the game will not go online.

Any ideas?

I just tried going online having removed all data from my PS3 and it's downloading a file that is taking an absolute age. I'm going to have to leave it on all night. It's been downloading for 3 hours and is only at 46%...

I guess the patch or whatever it is isn't a high priority these days.

The patch install has always been quite a slow and laborious process

Does it maybe download DLC I bought later on too? I went back to the store and redownloaded all the DLC I either had or bought some more. And I noticed most of it was just 300kb files - and having left it on all night downloading, the game data has gone from 2~3gb to just under 6.

All DLC is contained within those big patch updates, what you get from the store is a small unlock key which gives you access to the DLC

I don't think you can get online with this game now, if you didn't get whatever version it wants you to download... I left it downloading all Friday night, and on Saturday had a message saying "Please restart the game to go online". But I didn't want to go online so, quit out and played something else. Now I've just tried online and it's taken me to a 0% download bar again... (when I left it on Friday it was around 50%, so it was downloading). I'll try again tonight in case it's some kind of retarded incremental patch system.

But if you like playing this game online - DO NOT delete your game data

Sorry for the double post - I can't edit my last one...

It seems that having left it for a second night, it has, at last, upgraded to the appropriate version

I guess I should be grateful there weren't many patches!
