It gets to 51% after 12hrs and stops.. the disk is perfect.. surely it shouldnt take this long!! any ideas?

Hey Dave..  sorry to hear everything aint going so smoothly.

Just to clarify... I take it you're talking about downloading the patches?

If so they do take a long, long time but it sounds like yours is taking extra long.

There are 3 patches in total and I think they around 3gb so you gotta be patient.

A plus is that if you cancel the DL... it will resume from when you left off.

i havent got to the patches yet... this is the install to play the game for the first time...  i am thinking of stopping it and taking it back.

Oh ok... that is strange then.  I'd take the disk out, clean it and try again.

Are all your other disks working ok?

i've tired that last night, but i will stop it and do it again...

All my other games are perfect.

I might do a cheeky rent at blockbuster to see if it is the disk or not.

its just jumped to 55%.... now do i take it out... arghhh...

it isnt downloading the updates in the background as well is it?

No, it will only DL the updates when you select the online option from the Main Menu.

You would have thought that if it was the disk the instal would fail completely.... *stroke chin*

I can't really remember how long the orig install takes, it's quite a big one, ~4gb... I'd guess at 5-10 mins.
