Fallout 3 Revival

So, a little late to the party, I decided to pick Fallout 3 up for a fiver and have been playing it ever since - forget Black Ops and GT5, Fallout 3 has had me playing ever since.

Unfortunately, given my timing, all the Fallout 3 threads now languish at the bottom of the board behind all the New Vegas ones, so I was wondering if anyone else had picked it up recently or gone back to it after a lengthy absence?

Also, was/is anyone else really freaked out by the Mirelurks? Suffice to say that I'll be avoiding the Anchorage Memorial from now on...

Re: Fallout 3 Revival

Fallout 3 is one of my favourite games. I loved it so much I bought it twice :smileyvery-happy:

It's much better than New Vegas and feels much more expansive. The DLC is also great. If you thought Mirelukers were bad, wait until you see Deathclaws that fall from the sky :smileysurprised:

I think I briefly came across one of them, but was promptly killed before I could get a closer look :smileyvery-happy:

Re: Fallout 3 Revival

I'm going back to 3 after I've done New Vegas. Not done the DLC yet :smileyvery-happy:

And yes, Mirelurks suck. They're hard to kill and all you get from them is meat. I hate that mission you have to do as part of writing that book - the one where you have to plant some sort of device in a mirelurk nest?

Pro Tip: take grenades.

Yeah, managed it in the end just by legging it in and out - probably doesn't help that you're in an abandoned sewer, but they're still evil :smileyvery-happy:

I'm definitely contemplating the Broken Steel DLC so I can continue the free roam - presumably it doesn't matter whether you buy it before or after completing the main story as it will just take the character data no matter what?

Re: Fallout 3 Revival

Shame you don't have PS+ they gave us all the DLC a couple of months ago for a limited time :smileysad:

Yeah, at the moment I'll be paying more for the DLC than I did for the game :smileyvery-happy:

Re: Fallout 3 Revival

I was late to this game as well, and despite putting hours and hours into it, I'm still a bit overwhelmed by the epic scale of it.

It's magnificent.

Re: Fallout 3 Revival

Picked up the Game of The Year edition for $9.99 just before xmas. A great game for that cheap with all the expansion packs is an absolute bargain. Enjoying playing through it again n at least the DLC gives me some new stuff to play
