Fallout

I'm thinking about buying both of them but at the moment, which one should I get first? Should I get them at all? I've heard that it is buggy like hell. And did they patch Fallout 3 or was it just vegas?

I'm not sure about New Vegas - I'm still concerned that 1.05 hasn't solved all the problems so am holding off buying it - but as far as Fallout 3 is concerned, I personally had very few problems; it froze maybe twice throughout my whole playthrough of the non-GOTY edition.

Possibly I got lucky, I've heard some of the DLC is a lot worse, but I wouldn't dissuade you from purchasing it, especially when you can get it for under a tenner on amazon

Get Fallout 3 first. It's not unplaybable by any means but you may find it frustrating at times.

Defintaly worth the purchase.

Fallout 3 runs smoother then new vegas even with the latest patch.  NV froze on me 5 time yesterday which is slightly annoying to put it nicely.

Really? I don't recall the game freezing on me once since the big patch earlier this year. Used to have a choppy framerate & constant freezing, but now it runs smoothly.

To the OP, I agree with others in this thread about getting Fallout 3 first. New Vegas has a few more features than F3, and now I'd find it a bit strange to go back to F3 after getting used to aiming down the sights of my guns.

They're both good games. Certainly get the GOTY edition of Fallout 3 as it comes with 4 DLC packs, and then I suggest buying New Vegas after. You never know, there could be a New Vegas GOTY edition out by the time you want to buy it.

...although that's unlikely as it didn't win any Game of the Year awards

i think you could buy either one and still win i played both and enjoyed each alot! as for the glitching never had much of an issue with either one
