Re: So will you be playing in Hardcore mode in NV?

I tend to try games on their hardest setting first, that way I can always move down a notch if it's too difficult. Can't freaking wait for this game!

Hardcore mode

An optional Hardcore mode,  delivers more realism and intensity into the gaming environment. Gaming difficulty is increased, and encourages players to implement effective strategies, careful considerations in resource management, combat tactics, and high attention to the surrounding environment. The features that increase gaming difficulty are as follows:

  • Healing over time rather than instant healing
  • Healing of crippled limbs requires a high medicine skill and medical equipment.
  • Ammunition has weight.
  • Currency has weight
  • Requirement of water consumption to avoid dehydration and eventual death.
  • Requirement of food consumption and sleeping to avoid starvation and sleep deprivation.

-----

I definitely will be! I love the idea, I love Fallout's fun side, but also more realism will be welcome.

I'm also kinda hoping they limit how much lockers and cupboards etc can hold, so we can't just stash all my ammo, armor and cash in the lockers in our house (if we get one) like I've done on Fallout 3.

Ha- there's a mod for Fallout 3 PC that basically does exactly this. :smileyvery-happy:  'Fallout Wanderer's Edition' it's called- been using it on my latest playthrough and it's awesome- adds real depth to the world and makes the combat genuinely intresting.

Currency having weight is a bit scary, I wonder if there'll be some sort of bank...

I think I'll playthrough Hardcore from the start. Will make me feel like I really earned the plat

games are made to be fun, i play on easy plus diff. bar all the way down. Theres nothing fun about dying. Its fun to enjoy a game that is unreal.

Yeah! Going in hard from the start!

Hopefully the risk of death/semi permanent crippling should make the playthrough last longer and give a real sense of achievement when you've pulled yourself out of a sticky situation!
