Yeah and on GIMP you just have to save the filename as #.png :smileyhappy:

cool

been meaning to try it out but with having photoshop haven't got round to it (plus I know it won't be as good - but it's free).  just didn't want to be confusing him if the option wasn't there in GIMP.

I don't expect it's as good as Photoshop, but as a drawing tool/image manipulator it's pretty good - you can make some decent stuff, especially if it's more cartoony, but for the sci-fi/grunge effects Photoshop is a mile ahead.

I can't quite make out what the avatar is though! :smileyhappy:

It's a ninja :smileytongue:

I'm not a fan of GiMP really, then again, I've been using Photoshope for years and so I'm used to it now. It is quite a good alternative however, but nothing that someone who is considering a future in graphics design should need.

Re: Avatars using the forum design

Hey Mattiebo, I wanted to get into the X-mas spirit this year and i'm just wondering if you could make me a cool x-mas themed avatar? If you can. I'd like it to try and have DNA in it somehow.

Oops, didn't see this. I'll see what I can do, but I won't be able to do it until Wednesday at the earliest unfortunately. In the mean time, if anyone else wants to gie it a pop, good luck :smileytongue:
