I'm not sure 1 and 2 are really comparable with 3 - Movie Maker is a piece of free software whereas the others are professional video editing suites

Well, I'm not really an editor, I jsut get people to edit for me. Anyway, I own Windows Liver Movie Maker, and it's pretty crap. I haven't even heard of Final Cut Pro. So I'd kind of have to say Adobe After Effects, as that Predators montage by OpticPredator was edits with it.

Try Sony Vegas Pro 9

Adobe After Effects isn't a video editor, it is used for visual effects.

Adobe Premiere Pro is the video editor.

I would say Adobe After Effects, but for standard editing - Windows Media Player for Windows 7 has better rendering and HD Compatibility, Very good for making slideshows with normal effects, nothing too fancy.

As mentioned, Sony Vegas is very good.
