 Below is the start of a new sig, and my first attempt at making a fiery effect.

Yes i know it looks aweful. that is why i am here. anyone have any tips on improving it ?

That really doesn't look bad.

You have sharpen edges. Try to use some fire waves instead. Make some parts with blur effect.

I'd say if possible, slightly brighten the picture of ratchet as the flames on their own are too bright.

Heres how its come on so far, ive tweaked a few bits, and added an ice effect. but Im still not satisfied. Ive got a long way to go before I can call it a sig. Any further suggestions appreciated.

Use lots and lots of liquify and remember flames don't all follow the same path.
