PS.com SOTW COMPETITION

PS.com SOTW COMPETITION Righto, this is the new SOTW thread, let the discussion thread be used only to discuss the next theme/render whatever that will be chosen. The different variations of the comp are: Theme - makers have to create a peice of work based on a chosen them. The themes selected will always be very open to interpretation, which lets the artist explore their imagination, and the signatures that come out of it are very different. Render - makers are given a percific render/image that they have to include in their work somehow. For example, if the render was of Kratos from God of War, the creator could make a GOW sig, or maybe a sig based on ferocious characters, or even manipulate him so much that you cant even tell what it was in the first place! The possibilites really are endless. Quote - Noone has picked up on this one yet, but i thought a good idea would be to have some sort of quote from anything at all (could be from Churchill, game character... whatever) and make a signature somehow to fit it. This option really does let the imagination run wild i think, which is why i like it. Inside the discussion thread, we have also decided on a schedule for the competition, and how and when things will be happening: Sunday-Sunday - The competition begins, the theme/render/quote is stated. This thread is where it will be posted, and so people can discuss ideas, ask questions etc about their work or whatever. Anyone can enter and at whatever time they want, all that is needed to be done is for the finnished work to be PM'd to myself to be checked and posted into a thread for the voting to commence Monday-Saturday - Voting commences while we all decide on the next theme/render/quote inside the discussion thread Sunday - Winner is crowned and results posted in a thread in Fan Art acting as a sort of archive of winners. It then repeats and repeats, slowly building up a strong archive of winners and sig creators to get their hands on their own space inside the winners thread. Now the drips and draps of it, the agreed restrictions/regulations for the competition are:
  • File Size - No Limit
  • Signature Size - 500x200 Max

Re: PS.com SOTW COMPETITION

I have to say, 500x300 is rather odd for sigs imo, but I suppose some like doing them that big. =/

Infact, ive just checked to see how it looks on photoshop with 500x300 looks like a bloody sign to me. Signature size limit is of now 500x200

I just don't see them as sigs particuarly - they're more pieces of art at that size, which isn't (I didn't think) what we were going for...

Re: PS.com SOTW COMPETITION

i see what you mean drugged, 500x200 is more like a sig imo, 500x300 looks too much like a square than a rectangle.
