SCENE ONE
FADE IN:
EXTERIOR. A LONDON PARK – DAY
Two men in business attire sitting on a park bench with civilians
walking around. MICHAEL WALKER, 52, looks as though he would rather be somewhere else while PETER BLACK (Journalist) appears calm in the public surroundings.
MICHAEL
As far as I am concerned there is nothing to tell
PETER
I didn't make any suggestion otherwise
MICHAEL
Of course not, but what you say here and
what you print tomorrow will be totally different
PETER
I am just doing my job
MICHAEL
Turning the population against whoever is in power?
PETER
Our readers will stand by your party
MICHAEL
You are not getting a quote from me
PETER
Then perhaps you can point me in a direction
MICHAEL

INTERIOR HEATHROW TERMINAL WINDOWS– DAY
A Jumbo 474 is outside pulling into the taxi terminal, MICHAEL and PETER continue to be heard over the noise of the airport
PETER (OFF SCREEN)
If he is keeping something quiet you know we
perform damage limitation
MICHAEL (OFF SCREEN)
From what we see these days you don't seem
to try. How many times have
you jumped the gun in the last year?
PETER (OFF SCREEN)

MICHAEL Growing agitated shifts his body towards PETER
MICHAEL
Don't you give me that crap you little son of a *
MICHAELS mobile phone interrupts the conversation as it alerts him to a text message in his trouser pocket, he pulls it out to read the text. The view changes to show the message on the phone as 'Ver Piem has returned early, wants meet'

MICHAEL (Showing PETER phone message)

INTERIOR HEATHROW TERMINAL WINDOWS – DAY
Jumbo 747 stops before connecting with the terminal, three black official cars appear and pull up beside it, flanked by two police cars and four police motorbikes.
PETER (OFF SCREEN)
You are an *****, and tell your friend Ver Piem
he is an ***** as well
MICHAEL (OFF SCREEN)
His name isn't Ver Piem.
It's the Prime Minister.
CUT TO:
EXTERIOR HEATHROW TAXI AREA – DAY
A mobile stairway now appears and move into position at the Jumbo 747's door. The door to the Jumbo 747 opens and two security guards in black suits walk out and down the stairway the plane shortly followed by JERRY HOLMES (Prime Minister) and STACEY RADCLIFFE (Foreign Minister). Other officials and assistants follow.
STACEY
The chief whip believes we need the
spokesman to confront the media inside
the D-Street gates. That approach should
calm situation because we invited them in
instead of keeping them out and guessing
JERRY
And he is still going to go with the Syria story?
STACEY
It should do but the same story will not wash in two days,
and it's rare for a Foreign Minister to turn down
a visit to the White House so I can't stay here.
I am disobeying your wishes and going
JERRY
You do what you feel you need to but if you
are going I want you to get access to POTUS. I
will speak to him to make it happen
At the bottom of mobile stairs the three black official cars move in line towards them then stop, the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister enter the first car.
CUT TO:
INTERIOR MINISTERIAL CAR – DAY
The PM sits facing the front of the vehicle with STACEY taking the seat opposite facing backwards. Inside that car awaits MARTIN HOLMES (Secretary of State and the PM's brother) and SIR TERRANCE WATTS (Home Secretary). MARTIN hands the PM a brown paper back folder with white documents inside, marked with red letters 'BEYOND TOP SECRET'. The PM opens and begins reading.
MARTIN
The Americans sent that by person Jerry, a CIA
Operative we know as Keller. He was an insider at California
SIR TERRANCE
They believe the organisers are mostly backed by Russian and
Middle Eastern oil barons. None have been identified
yet but we do have information on one man
View changes to white paqe showing a small photo on the top left of a far eastern male with basic information to the right, and lots of writing underneath.
SIR TERRANCE
That is Joa Jintao. Son of a rural peasant farmer
and made a name for himself in China's property
boom since 2004. Details are sketchy at best
considering he is one of the wealthiest people
in that country. He doesn't like publicity
The view changes back to show the four Ministers from side on in the car
JERRY
Then we will have to ask the Chinese if they are
willing to co-operate
MARTIN
It wouldn't matter if they co-operated or not.
Jintao left China two years, given his wealth and
the rampant corruption on both sides of the border the
man can pass through any time he wants and there is no
record of it
JERRY
So the Americans don't think he is operating from China?
MARTIN
Exactly, North Korea provides the perfect cover for him.
The authorities get paid off, he can easily transfer
money to any nation he wants and the only people who
would know about it are him and the people receiving it.
SIR TERRANCE
Jerry. This man is dangerous. He has every finger
in Eastern and Western business and has fool proof
access to any dirty son of a * you could think of.
The Americans believe he is just one of the few
who are funding all of this.
JERRY (Agitated)
Why now then? Why are the Americans only telling us
this now?
MARTIN
They didn't know, Agent Keller was never allowed to
meet the contacts at California. They had nowhere to
start and it was by chance that he got this information.
SIR TERRANCE
We have already checked every possible place
they could pull it off, there are just three
regions in the country with a low enough population.
MARTIN
But it is highly unlikely we could stop it, these
backers have more than enough leverage to pay off
local enforcement and the residents to keep quiet
and look the otherway. Times are hard for them and
they will look the otherway.
JERRY (Still agitated)
MI5! You are basically telling me I have to deploy
MI5 all around the country to tell us if this is
happening?!
STACEY
When is it happening?
SIR TERRANCE
It will be a Saturday
JERRY
Why Saturday?
SIR TERRANCE
Our local resources are stretched manning the
football matches during the day and they are
on duty during the night in the towns and cities.
STACEY
Jesus! Do the Americans think they can get it set up
in one day?
SIR TERRANCE
Four hours. And as soon as they are done, they start.
JERRY
How long will it last?
SIR TERRANCE
Three days. They could be gone before we know
they are here.
MARTIN
Jerry. We don't have the resources to stop it
and we don't know the date. Our last C-16 took
off for Mali for two days ago, the Harriers are grounded
and our only Destroyer at home is in a dry dock in Aberdeen.
They can walk right in here with that aircraft
carrier of theirs and be gone again before
the Type-42 can get to the equator from the Falklands.
SIR TERRANCE
Motorstorm is coming Mr Prime Minister, the best
course of action right now is to keep it quiet.
We can plant our agents in the hot regions and we
can only hope we strike it lucky.
The view changes to show the Prime Minister front on in his seat in the car, he flicks through a couple of the pages in the documents too quickly to read them. Closing the brown paper folder and he runs his hands up his face and through his hair looking stressed. Finally resting his head in one hand propped on by the side window, he turns to look out of the blackened window and contemplates the situation.
JERRY
If we miss them, we lose the election
If this gets out before it starts and we miss them,
we lose the next two decades.

EX?TERIOR AIRPORT ENTRANCE – DAY
The police escort followed by the ministerial cars leave the airport grounds
JERRY (Off Screen)
Activate our agents, and get MI6 to send the sleepers
home.
