Hehehehe.
Well..... it was decided by all the beta testers to only allow beta members to play online when the game was released. Online play will become unlocked when you are awesome enough to achieve beta status
Dont know why these problems are happening, but I guarantee that it wasnt due to lack of feedback from the beta. The amount of stuff that was dumped on Titan Studio's was phenomenal

I'm with triki, there's not really any way to properly test it under full traffic load before release. I've been enjoying single player modes over the weekend, and have had plenty to do and enjoy without even trying to go online.
So long as they iron the issues out within the next week or so I have nothing to complain about. A few other multiplayer titles spring to mind which have all had teething issues at launch: Warhawk, Socom, BF 1943 and no doubt more. Give it a chance.

Purely this. Give the game a chance guys, it has only just been released. This is probably going to be it's busiest time, it's like this for ALL online games close to release.
Also, some pro tips. I wouldn't be giving advice not to buy the game purely based on your experience so far. Fat Princess is an awesome little game I must say, and I would recommend it wholeheartedly. I would certainly reward the 'slack' developers for this title. <3

Yeah fair play, it certainly sounds like the game is very good and worth the money, and you're right - developers can only test so far and can only speculate what will happen when they open the game to half a million users.
It's just when there are fairly obvious bugs where you just think "How can they let something like that through?" and then you have to put up with update after update after update.
Killzone and Burnout are the worst examples of this. A lot of Burnout's massive updates were even just for the paid-for add-ons. That really ***** me off. Whether you wanted the add-on or not, you basically had to stop playing and were only allowed to continue when you had downloaded the entire add-on bar the 100kb unlock code that you paid for later. It was a blatant sales trick that really interrupted your gameplay. It's like buying a house and then having the builders turn up again and build a garage right on your lawn and then saying "All done. You can start using your house again now but you can't have the garage until you've paid us for this key".
Anyway, going a bit off subject now! Carry on!

I'm with OP too on this one. I was so excited when it came out and I had no hesitations in pulling out the credit card.
I couldn't be bothered with SP when it was installed and jumped straight into MP before it returned a FAIL after waiting for it to connect for 5 minutes. Definitely a buzz killer.
Now that I'm into the Play with Yourself campaign it's not half bad. It will fill my appetite for now.
Regardless this is meant to be a Multiplayer game and what's Multiplayer when you can't get online!?

I tend to agree with the original sentiments.
I am close to insisting on having my money back (failed to deliver advertised functionality).
I would definately say that people who are conscious of what they spend should not buy this game until it's network capabilities are improved. It's possible that they never will be and that drops it's value from $24 to more like $10.
Having said that, the single player part is all I need for my 5yo son and he is enjoying it, so I am not completely dismayed and hoping they do get it patched up.
