This thread has made my mind up , I'm definatly getting it Mon/Tues.

Ive seen it for £22 at tesco , is that the best price about ?

Ideally though i want to be able to trade in SFIV even if i only get a fiver for it , so i wondered if anybody knew how much HMV, GAME are selling it for?

It's £24.99 in most places though I believe Asda had it priced at £19.71. Not sure if that's still the case.

Re: Super Street Fighter IV

It was just under £22 in Tesco the other day. I think ASDA are giving a free tshirt with it too :smileyhappy:

Shopto said it's unlikely they'll get those sticks back in since the new ones have just come out :smileysad:

It's a lot easier to pull off ultras now with my new stick. But I am a bit rubbish at normal punches and kicks again :smileysad:

Re: Super Street Fighter IV

like the OP, I've been thinking about this.  And like the OP I'm scared of the steep learning curve.  The fact is that street fighter games don't reward button mashing, and I've never been able to get my head around the moves and counters.  SSF2HD remix is the psn game I've played the least, after getting repeatedly beaten solidly by the AI and online.

Super SF4 just seems to be coming out for those peeps that have honed their skills on the original, and have forked out  100 notes for a controller JUST for this game.  There's no way I'll EVER be that hardcore.

Re: Super Street Fighter IV

I wouldn't say that cabbage, from this thread, about half of us posting are rubbish :smileyhappy:
Now the game has been out a while, all the good people tend to be out of my league online now so the games are more even :smileyhappy:

I wasn't mega keen on fighting games before this but really starting to get into it. I think it does take a bit of time to get decent though. I have nothing to do until RDR is out anyway :smileyhappy:

Re: Super Street Fighter IV

You can search for games against people with similar skill level as yourself as well so you can usually avoid the elite players. There's lots of average to rubbish players online (like me) so the matches for the most part have been pretty even.

Re: Super Street Fighter IV

I don't really like the matchmaking online, I'm sure it goes by battle points and not player points. I've played so many games that I've somehow ended up with enough battle points to go up a rank, but I have hardly any player points because they go down when you lose. So I'm still going to get owned most games online probably :smileysad: Also, how is everyone combating the Kens and Ryus who just jump over you as you get up and kick kick punch and shoryuken or whatever? I'm a lot better against the fireball spammers now but it's the ones who get up close that easily beat me. Still getting used to the fight pad so that's half the problem anyway...

I might go to the shops today and get a stick so I don't start getting used to the controller too much. I still struggle to pull off ultras and even decent specials so just need to practice. Although it is quality when I finally do it and take someone out of the air with Adon :smileyvery-happy: Definately want to get better at this.

Yeah, this is the cheaper one I bought. It was well worth the money.

And, the more expensive one I have is from the post below! I bought it from amazon though I'm sure it was about 90quid.

Re: Super Street Fighter IV

I just checked my account I did buy the official one for £90
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Street-Fighter-Arcade-FightStick-Tournament/dp/B001M25AY6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8...

It is now £100! It was only a couple of weeks ago I bought it. Although, this was a few weeks before the new game came out, and everybody started looking at fight sticks

I wouldn't exactly say I'm hardcore. Granted I owned the original SFIV and my gf bought me the official acrade fightstick for my birthday last year but even so I'm still not very good. It's a pastime for me but one that I enjoy immensely even though I am, by my own admission, pretty crap lol. In my eyes you don't need to spend a lot of money to buy a decent stick. Had my gf not bought me the offical stick I would have settled for a cheaper Hori one. I didon't want a stick because I'm hardcore, I wanted it because I wanted to feel the proper arcade experience and that's something you just can't get from a standard controller.

I suppose it just depends on how much you value your gaming and how much time you plan on investing in this game :smileyhappy:

Re: Super Street Fighter IV

Yeah, it was that cheaper one that I bought from Game yesterday. I seems pretty decent, I thought it would be rubbish. The only problem I have is that I keep punching instead of kicking :smileysad: But that's just me being a mong.
