This is what;s just been announced at Capcom's Comic Con SF keynote courtesy of 1up's Mike Nelson:

we have more costumes on the way for SSF 4, official regional tournaments, more characters confirmed for the arcade version of SSF4 (to be revealed at TGS), a new version of Street Fighter 3 coming soon, and of course Street Fighter Cross Tekken, Tekken Cross Street Fighter.

So the new characters are being announced later on 

I'm not sure what consoles the new SF3 will head too, hopefully PS3 but apparently it has an online mode and it's 3rd Strike

Hiya I have just got an original street fight 4 arcade stick (the standard one). I am wondering is it worth me modding it to have a Sanwa Joystick and Sanwa buttons??? I seem to be having difficulty performing dragon punches when im going from left to right, however I can do them easily the opposite way so I dunno if its me or the joystick??? Also are Sanwa joysticks more sensitive??? Will I find it easier to do moves like that with Sanwa parts??? Lastly if you do recommend me modding it, where would I get the Sanwa parts from??? Anyone know any shops that sell them for uk streetfighter 4 standard fight sticks????

Chunners is nice n strong + fun to play
Sakura is fairly cool too but not as easy to use as Chunners
Makoto is EPIC fun to use, but very very difficult to master!

Who out of the three do you least go against online? Basically I don't want to go a character everyone goes. Makoto seems like the person I will try!

Makto/Sakura as the least I encounter online (in ranked matches anyway)

On the safe side I think I will go Ryu online until I get use to playing as Sakura or Makoto!
