Calm down dear. It was just a question.

I will probably avoid this FF then.

It's worth noting that this is only confirmed for the PC version and that it says PS3 pricing is still tba. I don't see it being wildly different though, if I'm honest.

I'd prefer for them to release the trial on the store, instead of me paying £40 for the game and if I don't like it then I won't get my full money back.

Come on you cant say you were not expectin this, it is cheaper than I was expecting to be honest but it seems reasonable.

That sub pays for GMs and devs to continually develop.. its worth it tho for the support and comunity, poviding the game is good.

Not really entirely true though. By having a subscription fee they turn quite a few people away (like me and various others have said in the thread). If they did it free and then had DLC on the store, or people could pay for extra characters, they would quite possibly make more money by having more customers. MW2 has somehow managed to get people to pay around £24 for 10 maps, I'm sure people would pay a similar amount for entirely new regions/quests/etc. in an MMORPG.

Guild Wars manages it, why can't FF? IMO, subscription fees to play games online is just wrong.

I just took a screenshot from the website to get all the pricing info here.

Shame.:smileysad: Too rich for my tastes. I have no problem paying for servers through DLC but paying for 'access only' to a MMO which will total nearly £110 per year is beyond my financial vs enjoyment factor. *So, as per Roxas, 'nose in air humpf!'*

Re: 8.99£ each month for FF14

Paying to play doesn't work for me.  Even if I was willing to pay each month I don't necessarily play a game through to completion without breaking from it for weeks or months at a time.

£8.99 sounds like a rip off.  I've never played an MMO RPG, but I rent a game a month for £3.49.  I wouldn't expect to pay any more than that.

For £8.99 a month they should give you the game for free.  In fact the more I think about it the more crazy that price seems.  Curious to see how many PS3 owners (who haven't had to pay for anything yet) will be happy with that price.
