Battle and lvling up systems

is it just me or are they boring, i'm getting it very hard to stay away they seem to lack the complexity of other final fantasy games i'm about 6 chapters in and i feel like i'm just button mashing my way through it

Re: Battle and lvling up systems

The battle system is just as complex if not more as the enemies get harder and the weapon upgrading and crystal (whatever its called) are pretty indepth.

Re: Battle and lvling up systems

I'm really enjoying the sphere grid type lvling system and I'm finding the battle system quite frantic. I don't know what chapter I'm in but I'm definately not button mashing, I find myself having to make different judgement calls in each of the battles i make and don't just stick with the auto attack. It's quite rewarding when you get good scores too, though i don't like the score system cause I like to take my time and this doesn't really give you much space to do that. Re: Battle and lvling up systems

Lol just wait till you start getting to meat and bones of any final fantasy the side quests and the "Did anyone get the number of that BUS!!!!" sub bosses, then its anything but the button mash in fact its mroe mad panic tech.. erm no erm abilities erm no yeah tech oh ***** i shoulda Paradigmed to medic before I died.,..

You wont beat many of them by button mashing, and asevery final fantasy fan knows the sidewquest bosses are the real meat of the game.

This pretty much sums up my feelings about the battle system, generally I like to be able to take my time and think things through, hence why I prefer turn-based battles normally, but in this I feel I have to play a lot more attack minded to get good points and keep my TP fairly high.

Re: Battle and lvling up systems

IT should get more complex, dont forget that the main quest is meant to be around 60hours long. thats plenty of time for it to develop

Re: Battle and lvling up systems

Have you tried setting the battle speed to slow? I haven't tried it yet, maybe it will help?

Re: Battle and lvling up systems

Balders Gate did it best..

You could just issue commands real time on the fly OR you could pause and issue commands then continue and pause again when you needed to change the commands..
