This is also wrong, and taken straight from the guide, incorrectly taken, too.
The way it works is that on the Crystarium board you have Large Nodes and Small Nodes - any role placed on a large node gets a bonus for that role, so you put as many Commando levels as possible on the large nodes for Noel then move onto Saboteur (+2 str even levels) and the same for Serah, except for Ravager and Syn on Odd levels.
And there is no "optimal" levelling. It's down to what you want from youe characters and how you play. This is just how to get max strength for Noel, but with little magic, and max magic for Serah, but with little in terms of strength.

So it's just a Rough guide then, basically?
Could help I suppose then of you get stuck.
I wish there was a guide for lvling monsters to make them best.
Same as Noel and Serah really. For a magic based monster, but the magic buffing items on large nodes, and other's on small, or just give it all magic all the time like I have done ![]()
Infusion seems really interesting to me, I haven't got around to properly trying it out and experimenting though yet.

In which case the most important thing is what you level up when, but what paradigm you choose to level up using the larger bonus spheres.
Correct sir. In all there are something like 197 nodes with are large.
Commando = +2 Strength
Ravager = +2 Magic
Sentinel = +6 HP
Saboteur = +2 Strength (EVEN level) +2 Magic (ODD level)
Synergist = +6 HP (EVEN) +2 Magic (ODD)
Medic = +6 HP
