Final Fantasy

Right after over 85 hours of play, I have finally "completed" FFXII-2, phew!

Of course anyone who has completed it already will know that that's not the true end of it as you can find the alternate paradox endings etc. which I'm about to do now.

Anyway, I had a question about the ending and the message that appears "to be continued...", I was genuinely surprised at this and now am left wondering if they just mean due to the alternate paradoxes and DLC etc. or do they actually mean there will be a sequel?

Must confess though, I found the last few battles with Caius etc. really, really easy. To the point where I think I could have won the fight just by sitting and watching my 2 team-mates fight while I made myself a cup of tea!

Now, yes I spent about 40+ hours finding all fragments, levelling up monsters, maxing out the crystarium etc. but that's what I do - I do everything that I can BEFORE heading off to the final fight because that's the script I've been following for FF games for about 20 years!

You build yourself up as best you can as you sometimes have no option to come back out again and level up and you certainly don't want to come up against the end boss underpowered and missing essential weapons etc.

So to find that my tried and tested approach then meant that the end boss was a walk in the park was almost disappointing. Yes, I could have went to challenge Caius at any time and then came out and explored further at will but I consider the fact that the game almost expects you to complete the game before you explore all the remaining enemies, areas etc. as a bit of a cheat.

I mean when the game ends and the credits roll, that should pretty much be it for the game surely?!

Anyway, slight rant over and I've really enjoyed this game but just wanted to share and find out how others feel about this....

I've now managed to Platinum this by finally getting all fragments and seeing all paradox endings.

Can't believe the final secret ending after the credits roll was that, I actually thought it might change the ending in some way, not just add a 30 second clip that explained exactly what we all knew anyway.

Guess the TBC definitely does relate to a sequel or DLC then and not an alternate ending....

Iv complted it with about 25 hours or so. I think...can't remember.But its best if you use spoilers if you are going to reveal anything.

I thought was ok, the Final Boss I wasn't exspecting to be a final boss, so when I beat him and the game ended I was surprised. The part I did like was the Cinematic part where you had to kill Ciaus or show mercy, first time I showed Mercy, second, I choose kill him but was disapointed not matter what option you choose its the excat same outcome. The ending with the new cucoon floating up was ok but the name Hope gave it? me no like. The to be contuined part I hope they don't add DLC to the game.

Yeah I also alternated options with Caius but I suspected it wouldln't change anything!

i didn't even know there was a FFXII-2,do you mean that DS game 'Revenant Wings'?

EDIT:Nevermind,i see you mean FF13-2...LOL,if i finished that game now i wouldn't say 'finally',its only just got released a month or two ago,i have still not finished FF8,but when i do thats when i will say 'Finally'

Just watching the final cutscene for the third time.

Completed it, then got all endings/fragments, 5 starred the boss for the trophy and expected the secret ending followed by the Platinum...but like a complete gimp I didn't put the paradox scope on

Soooooooo, had to blitz the bosses again (scope on) and am awaiting my shiny plat 

Loved the game, towards the end I got that "oh no not a massive grind situation" feeling again, but thankfully the map/bestiary completion wasn't in the same league as the Long Gui farming from XIII!!

Here's hoping for either a sequel or some extensive DLC
